Black eyes, concussions and gashes

I hurt her last night, worse than usual. We were having violent sex, the kind where we're savagely fighting tooth and nail to see who's going to be on top, throwing each other around, hitting, scratching, etc. The catch though was that she was pinning me down with her full weight, and we can't have that, so in the course of throwing her onto her back I tossed her into the wall really hard, resulting in a concussion and nice gash across her eyebrow. Blood dripping down her face. It was the single most terrifying thing I have ever had happen to me. When we finally went to bed hours later I wanted to tell her over and over that I loved her in case she didn't wake up.
Today we're going to the doctor for stitches and hopefully painkillers for the headache and so forth. I'm vaguely worried that there'll be some sort of domestic abuse nonsense going on, but she'll have to press charges for that. Still, the thought of people perceiving me as a wife beater is hugely repugnant in a number of ways.
So what did we learn? We learned to move the bed away from the wall next time.
