My stimulus package came through last week. I felt incrdibly happy when I saw a decent little sum on top of my wage. However, I am just treating it as a mini credit account to use an advance of 20 or 50 - I won't touch more than a fifth of it at any time because even though the aim of the stimulus is to stimulate the economy, I don't feel that buying early christmas presents for ones self is the wisest idea.I see a rise in taxes and a bite on the ass of fools on the horizon.
A workmate gave me a goofy laugh and smile when I asked hi if he had recieved his yet about two weeks ago. 'Oh, I've already spent mine. All gone!' He got the surround sound system he NEEDED. This is a 34 year old single guy who lives with his parents (which is fine), only works casually at the hardware store, doesn't have a second job or intention of finding one, doesn't have a car or bike or motorbike and lives in the middle of nowhere so has to catch hourly or even less frequent running bus routes, doesn't study, plays guitar at a very amateur level, hasn't got a girlfriend/boyfriend or anyone that he is interested in and hasn't for the 3 years that I have known him - and is losing his hair in a terrible patchy way without a handsome face to make up for it. He isn't quick to understand things and thinks that a fellow workmate was just joking when she insulted him by calling him a fucking idiot. He's a lovely guy but he is the type of person who needed that package to better his life - he could have taken guitar lessons, had almost enough money to get a crappy car to make his life easier rather than aid and enlarge his couch butt watching movies with better sound. I'm one of the few people who like him even though he is lazy and crap at his job but I couldn't stop myself judging him (from the inside).
I shouldn't have even recieved this stimulus handout but I guess I can put it towards bond and furniture when I move later on in the year or my own little shit car. I am proud that I haven't even been that tempted to wash it away with latex and shoes. And! I HAVE stimulated things. I bought some books, coffee, shoes on lay-by, stockings, dinner, lunches, booze and stationary stuff.
One disgusting but hilarious t-shirt I saw had 'THANKS KEV' written on it. Supre. If I see some fat ugg boot wearing ridiculously-wrong-tone foundation bathing 16 year old with her gut hanging out of her too-tight pants and THANKS KEV t-shirt I will probably have to turn away and walk around the corner. Supre is a cheap and nasty store whose clientele is mostly 12 - 17 year old mainstream preppy girls dripping in makeup. That and some of my gay friends who buy their girl jeans from there...
Its just a little amusing because the people who are to buy those t-shirts probably weren't even recievers of the stimulus package in the first place. Waste of fabric and money... Spend your 5$ to prove you're stupid yet?

I'm happy I got that out of my system
