I'm reading Stephen King's The Stand. Fairly good book. First Stephen King book I've read.

The Monk and the Philosopher. Highly recommended! It has a lot going on in it, but if you take time to analyze a bit, it is logical.

I, Strahd - P.N. Elrod
I'm also reading several other books, but that's the one I'm currently working on the most.

My mom just bought me four books at a discount (The Biography of Benjamin Franklin, a book about the fucked upness of the welfare system, Whie Oleander, The Poisenwood Bible.) It's such a gross, rainy day that I pretty much plan on reading all of them today.

Stiff by Mary Roach.

So funny.

The Year's Best Fantasy and Horror 2007, edited by Ellen Datlow and Kelly Link. It's an anthology, and I thought only three of the stories were worth the price of admission. How could they not include any stories by Caitlin Kiernan?

I just got back from the library and the used book store. The library was able to special order a couple books I need for something I'm trying to write. They are Fashioning Gothic Bodies by C. Spooner and The Gendering of Melancholia by J. Schiesari. At the book store I found a used paperback copy of Matthew Lewis' The Monk..one of those books you hear so much about but seldom see IRL. Needless to say I snatched it up even tho I have about 6 other books I have to read for my writing project before I can actually get to it.

Try "Misery" by the same author, it made my toenails curl.
The movie version is VERY watered down. Trust me. It is a good read.

The Vampire Lestat- Anne Rice.
Got into that kinda stuff right after watching The Queen of the Damned with the sexyness of Stuart Townsend.

Heart-Same happened to me. I wish Townsend was in more....I liked Interview better than what I've read of QoD so far.

I`m currently reading `Alice In Sunderland` by Bryan Talbot, and its one of the best and most original graphic novels I`ve ever read !!!.

TheBloodEternity 06-23-2008 08:03 PM

I just got through reading Lord of the Flies. Very short, but a friend gave it to me and told me it was freaky and that I would like it about a year ago so I spent a few of my recent sleepless nights reading it.
