Segregated proms
I thought it was bad enough when I read on Y*h**.c*m news about the segregated prom in Alabama where the prom King and Queen had to attend separate proms because the prom King was white and the prom Queen was black. Then I found out segregating kids for their proms is not just relegated to one state. These kids go to school together, and then they separate them on prom night?! Do these parents and teachers not know that they are anachronisms and that segregation is an antiquated system that should have been done away with already? After all, this is the 21st century and not the 1st!

Um.. what? This still happens? :(

Not surprising, is it? Alabama only legalized interracial marriage in 2000 or 2001, although segregation doesn't only happen in highschools in Alabama, its still fairly common for fraternities to be segregated.
