Oldie but Newbie!
 

Hello! I'm a bit new to this online computery scullduggery, but I am a newbie on the list and wanted to introduce myself...

I'm an original 80s Goth but consider myself to have fairly diverse/ open minded interests and likings. I have red hair, tattoos, and ride a motorcycle. I have recently come out of a long-term (15 year) relationship and I guess I am looking for new friends and people to connect with.

1. What do you do? (Hobbies, job)

I am an administrator in a Welsh University. For enjoyment I listen to lots of different music (80s goth, metal, all sorts of other stuff - Beck, Muse, Nick Drake, Within Temptation, Lush, etc, etc), I draw and paint, write, walk and ride my motorbike. I bought my first car recently after the split and am loving it - all that hair and boots and makeup - unhindered by helmet and waterproofs!

2. Where are you from?

Originally from Bristol, now in the Welsh mountains. I might have to move back to Blighty at some stage to get a life back!

3. Who is your favorite author?

Can't think of any one offhand. I love buying a pile of paperbacks from a charity shop and reading through them.

4. What are your favorite films?

No particular faves but I like historical films.

5. What music do you want played at your wedding?

Don't plan on getting married now at my time of life (40 - gasp!), but if I did it might be a Muse track.

6. At your funeral?

Nick Drake's River Man. Brings a tear to the eye every time.

7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?

Quickly and painlessly! All the more the nearer I actually get to it...

8. What kind of casket would you want?

Black, natch. Red silk lining.

9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?

Victorian high boots, ankle-length tafetta skirt with long frill, ickle t-shirt with puff-sleeved Victorian fitted type blouse worn as a jacket. It's what I wear to work :o)

10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?

Pocket money. And summers.

11. What's your favorite band?

I've only newly discovered Muse and am loving them. Last month it was Beck. I've got perennial favourites like Bowie, Siouxsie, a bit of early 90s grunge, etc, but I like lots of stuff.

12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?

Secondary school to A level, foundation year at Art college, then a life of drudgery at work to pay the mortgage.

13. Why did you join?

It looked like a friendly place where I might find some friends and comfort to get me through being newly on my own in the bleak mountains.

14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?

I'm a laydee.
