Gothy Computer Case
I bought a good old antec case. It is a nice sturdy steel one.
Unfortunatley, it is all white. I bought another case along time ago that a had belonged to an airbrush artist. He had experimented with that case and he had air brushed some designs on it. A black backround with an eye and lightning bolts. He was just playing around but it was still very good. I was thinking of saving up and bringing my case to him and make it look gothy. Anybody have any idea on a design? I want something that is special that I will hold on to for along time. |
I've got it! How about a pink background with big purple letters that read:
I HATE WOMEN. FUCK MY ASS. |

You could air brush the Bauhaus and Sex Gang Children logos onto it using stencils.
Bauhaus Sex Gang Children [For the Sex Gang Children logo, follow the link and the main picture is a logo you could use.] |
That's a good idea.
Definitely should do the Bauhaus onee |
What you could do, which might be slightly too elaborate for you, is cut your name or gamer nick into the side panel and then have bat shaped holes coming out of the last letter and such. then put Plexiglas behind the holes and light it with the color of your choice.
P.S. Sorry if this is confusing, if you can't grasp the idea I'll draw you a sketch. |
Wow.
That sound so cool. I wanna do something like that now! Shame I have nothing to do it on.. :( :P |

I think I might have this airbrush artist do it. I will probably mess it up. |
Just mask it off and hand paint / airbrush it yourself, as long as you don't put way too much paint on it won't seep under. If this person is going to do it for free though, go for it.

That is why I am considering doing it myself. |

You can hardly mess it up. It's only paint, you can remove it and start over if you do. It's not like cutting the metal , then you only have one go to get it right.

GOTH. DON'T DREAM IT. BE IT. |
A friend of mine has his own custom design studio specialising in EXTREME modifications for computers. You tell him your idea and he makes your boring PC/Mac look like it's from another planet lol.

If its already white you could buy some black paint and stencil the Bauhaus logo on pretty easily. Providing you could make the stencil.
If it all goes horribly wrong you could paint over it and pay to have it done then. |
alright, here is what you do:
Get yourself a good piece of wood that is about the size of the computer. take masking tape and over lap it over the wood covering the surface area. Take a pencil and trace out the design your looking for on the masking tape. with an exacto-knife, cut it out carefully, and take off the parts where you want paint to be. Using spray paint from whatever local hobby/crafts/hardware store, Prime your computer case with the background colour. you may want to go over it again. if you want to do anything spiffy with the background at this point, do so. (I recommend getting a nice small bottle/can of brush paint and sticking a straw in it, pinch one end [not shut, just to help increase the suction and so you have a tactile reminder that you have enough) and suck into it, when it reaches your fingers stop and carry it over to your computer. Spit it out and you'll have a nifty little blood splatter. go over with thinned down [water consistancy] black glosimer paint and the thinned downed paint will seep into the crevices, darkening the outsides. you will have realistic blood splatter look. Peel the masking tape up carefully (if the tape is over layed like so: /////<- peel from this side!) and lay it on the computer case flat. spray it with the color you want the design to be. if you are using two different colors (like a gradiant that starts off red and fades purple, for example) paint it all one color, let it dry then paint a stripe slightly off the line where the gradiant occurs and when that line dries, spray the rest of the half the target color. when that fades, on the other half of the target color lay a quick line of the base color. Hope this helps, a couple of other tips: spray lightly in quick little bursts until the entire surface is covered, don't hold the tab down and plaster it, you'll just waste paint, loose detail and make a mess. Spray out doors on dry days (the humidity will make your work look it's grown fur) and hold the spray can about 8-12 inches away. sand the primered work with low grit sandpaper and smooth that puppy out. And you can make more then one stencil if you want to play with multiple colors, but that's a little more difficult for a new painter... |
I think I will spray paint a Bauhaus logo on my case.
I drew a stencle what do you think? http://tinyurl.com/6ezy7l Here is what the case might look like. If you were curious about what that spikey gadget is in the corner of my drawings, it is my own logo I invented. It is meant to look like a spike bracelet. http://tinyurl.com/6o75oy |
Have your friends scrawl all over it in marker pen..

After it's done, I'd cover the scrawling with a protective coating. |
Yer.
I let people write all over my bedroom walls. Also that Bauhaus logo wouldn't work as a stencil. |
I think it would work, especially if it's pretty much covering the whole side of a computer, the lines won't be too line.
