lovely stereotype, can I use that one.

so you advocate joining the army and dying for a country that will end up destroying itself anyway?

everyone is just another life, why give it to someone else?

Do you even know what the merchant navy is? It's got nothing whatsoever to do with the military.

sorry, didn't see merchant in there.

that's fine, do whatever.

Just had this thing, my mates dead set about being a grunt, he know's he's got a good chance of dying, he doesn't care he's fixated with this whole military mindset, bit of a nutter. I don't know why he's willing to die for it.

For some people it has to do with family tradition, I know one of my friends is going to be joining up as soon as he is done with school simply because every man in his family has been in the navy for the past five generations, at least he will be going in as an officer.

Beyond that the military really isn't a bad deal, a lot of people simply don't know what they want to do and the military gives you a decent paying, secure job for a few years that has amazing benefits such as free health care, the GI bill, free travel, and the ability to see parts of the world that few travel to, yeah it isn't the safest career path but plenty of people honestly enjoy it and feel that they are doing something worthwhile, at the very least it is more interesting than sitting at a desk all day.

I want everyone to ambiguity where ever they find it.

Ben Lahnger 03-28-2009 12:08 AM

Ah, I guess that got the response it deserved.

tee hee hee!

Mr E Nigma 03-28-2009 11:03 AM

Lmfao Ben it lacked sense anyways. Nice.

Ben Lahnger 03-29-2009 01:20 AM

Well, it was intentionally ambiguous!!!

Apropos of random, did you know that when Joe Sturmer (lead singer from The Clash) heard that U.S. Air Force members were using "Rock The Casbah" as their unofficial theme song during the first gulf war in Iraq, he wept.

Ben Lahnger 03-29-2009 03:27 AM

Oh, and the new thread about nothing should be the only thread about nothing.

There, I said it, okay!!!

Mir 03-29-2009 03:30 AM

It's a free country, mostly.

Ben Lahnger 03-29-2009 03:32 AM

Bwah-hah-hah-hah-hah!!!

maggot 03-29-2009 09:24 PM

I have decided that this website is about 50x more hilarious than when I last visited. This is my new old home.

And woah, Ben's back.

Mr E Nigma 03-29-2009 11:14 PM

He's back with a vengeance... a vengeance of lovely booby filled avatars.

maggot 03-29-2009 11:17 PM

Nah, it was always that way. haha

In my early days on Gnet, we decided he was my online father. xD

Solumina 03-29-2009 11:25 PM

Aww I didn't get any gnet parents, I feel left out now :(

Mir 03-29-2009 11:28 PM

I can be your dad, if you can find a hot mom to pair me up with.

Solumina 03-29-2009 11:42 PM

Remember Geo is my gnet sister so if you take me then you have to take her too, but if your cool with that then I can try and find a hot mom.

Mir 03-29-2009 11:49 PM

I could never separate you two!

Solumina 03-29-2009 11:52 PM

Yay!

Now I just have to find a hot gnetter to be the mommy in our gnet family
