What did you make?

I have noticed that members in here are rather creative, yet we need a thread where you can share your creations.
This is it! I'll go first.
I made a Slytherin themed wand.

Ooh.. what is the handle made from?

Timeless Rebellion 12-22-2012 02:56 PM

Hot glue and lava beads :D

Miss Absynthe 12-22-2012 03:28 PM

That's really cool.

Have you ever had Neuhaus chocolate? I got a package from my friend in Denmark the other day, and he sent me a whole lot of wonderful chocolate, including a box of Neuhaus... which I think is the most complex and delicate chocolate that I've ever tasted. It's amazing.

Timeless Rebellion 12-22-2012 03:29 PM

I haven't heard of it, but I might have to look into that now :b

Timeless Rebellion 12-22-2012 05:46 PM

I made another :P I know both wands are very short, but I had nothing longer that I could not be without.

Whoa, Timeless. When I first saw these I almost thought it was blown glass. Impressive. :)

Timeless Rebellion 12-23-2012 08:05 AM

Thank you :)
Feels much more comfortable than blown glass, because the paint and glue gives friction when you hold them, so they don't slide, and that is awesome :D

Jaye Jang 12-23-2012 08:28 AM

Just out of curiousity, do you have a craft store or home decor store nearby? I'm thinking you could maybe use dowel rods as an armature or maybe a small curtain rod. (I was almost thinking an old car antenna, but I don't know where you'd get one). Would any of that work?

Timeless Rebellion 12-23-2012 10:26 AM

Well, I suppose they could, but I prefer brushes or chopsticks because of the size and the fact that they are already wood. I just need to go out and buy some cheap brushes that are longer :) And crafting the entire handle from glue is preferable because you can do so much with it :)

Jaye Jang 12-23-2012 12:25 PM

Okay. I get you. Yeah, brushes and chopsticks would work better (but I hear where you're coming from. I would be hard put to part with my brushes, or chopsticks for that matter). However, if you really got ambition someday, I think this would look so cool on the end of a walking stick. Hmmm.

Timeless Rebellion 12-23-2012 01:27 PM

Well, I would need larger lava beads then :P But that could be cool, decorating an entire walking stick like this! :D

Turns out one of my long brushes was worn and needed changing soon, so I let it serve it's final purpose by becoming a Gryffindor wand.

(Getting tired of me posting wands soon?)

Xombie 12-24-2012 06:51 PM

I've been going wild with bottle openers lately.

Xombie: I'd almost have thought you knew me well - I collect bottle openers :o Those you have there are awesome btw ^^

Fruitbat 12-30-2012 04:43 AM

Timeless - well aren't you a clever chops!

*jealous*

AshleyO 12-30-2012 10:43 AM

Oh those are WANDS!

...Man. I was getting increasingly nervous with each one.

Good work.

Xombie. Are you a metalworker/blacksmith by chance?

honeythorn 12-30-2012 01:27 PM

Well since I kind of posted my last one in the picture thread I won't put it here as well. But when I do anything new I'll chuck it in here :)

I have an idea needling away for a sea themed head-dress, involving leather and auger shells, pearls and dried sea fan, seagull feathers and if I can get any, some old vintage sealskin from an old coat or mitten or something .

I have absolutely NOWHERE to wear such a thing and haven't the figure for the sort of outfit it would go with . But it's poking the back of my brain more insistently so it will get itself made soon enough I reckon..

Fruitbat 12-30-2012 06:33 PM

.... I made scones... they didn't work... :(

Maybe I need to sit next to Timeless and get some creative abilities via osmosis.

Timeless Rebellion 01-03-2013 07:58 AM

Fruity: Thanks :3 You make me feel special :D
Ashley: Do I even want to know what you thought they were...? o.o
Honeythorn: That does sound awesome :D And hey, who says you have to have a use for anything to make it? I don't go to Hogwarts, yet I made wands :P

Jaye Jang 01-03-2013 09:56 AM

Xombie, love the bottle openers.
TR, re: "...who says you have to have a use for anything to make it?" Thanks for that. I've had a hankering to make another Southwestern style wreath, but I already have one. (Tried selling them, but people just said they were nice, and, "You know, with the economy, and all that ...," so I gave up). I think I might just do that. After all, I've got a spare wreath form, and feathers, and leathers and pony beads, and ... hmmm.

Timeless Rebellion 01-03-2013 10:18 AM

You totally should :D The creative process is worth more than you could make from selling whatever you are making :)

This is so true. Sometimes, you just need to create, and it doesn't matter if it can be sold, it's good for your mental health/spirit/soul - whatever you want to call it.

I'm sewing toilet roll holders - but I've run out of patience with them, and now we are having a staring competition to see who is going to give in first.

Timeless Rebellion 01-05-2013 07:57 AM

Sometimes, I don't even care if what I make is good or bad, I just want to create :D
