I may complain about my family and my terrible upbringing at times, but then my Mom goes and does something completely fucking awesome~sauce!

My Mom sent me a small giftcard for getting a 4.0 GPA. The money is not what matters. What I treasure is that it took me waaaaay back to my childhood when my Grandmother would reward our efforts to get As with a quarter for each A earned. Priceless memories. ^_^ If there is an afterlife then my Grandmother has surely earned her place in paradise for teaching so many people how wondeful love is.

I understand that feeling. That is really sweet.

What made my day yesterday is hearing that a good friend who has had a very troubled life is getting a promotion to Specialist in the army, and his dad is driving out to pin him. I am so proud of him I could almost glow in non monochromatic colors :o

Wyn, that is heartwarming news! *tear*

MissCheyenne 06-01-2011 02:42 PM

My little boy wearing and doing up a pair of trousers with buttons and zips on them for the first time by himself. A seemingly small achievment you would think for a 7 year old but he's autistic and really struggles with things like that so this is a step forward towards getting him to be able to dress himself. Also, Mum's cancer has shrunk by another centimetre and a half.FUCK YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.

Grausamkeit 06-01-2011 08:48 PM

Awesome news on both counts, MissCheyenne!

My children are both autistic and little things(like them putting their own shoes or shirt on) are celebrated around here. My son has gotten into the habit of clapping and saying "yay!" or "good boy!" when he does something good.

Fruitbat 06-02-2011 04:27 AM

Awesum news MissC..

watching babybat sleep made my day.. he's like me, takes up the entire bed, and never sleeps with his head on a pillow (usually it's his feet)

The guy on the desk at the gym asked If I'd been at college today. Which means he thinks I'm around 20 or so. *applies more anti ageing cream * :)

Love hearing great news, this seems like an awesome forum. :) I got super happy news today- Christopher Golden oked me (a complete nobody, never published) to co-write a story with an author I really admire for an upcoming anthology. The only thing competing with the giddiness is writing something good enough by the fall deadline... (eep!)

Grausamkeit 06-08-2011 12:20 PM

GURK!

It's like having the original Final Fantasy on your phone, but with slightly worse graphics.

It's awesome to live in a time when we have 'smartphones'.

Yeah, that is pretty darned cool!

Here's a link where you can listen to a ditty I created with Google's Les Paul doodle:

Also, a TV station posted this picture of a lightening storm over a Chilean volcano on their website, and I think it is awe inspiring!

@ben: Nice! One of my friends tried the following "chords" on the logo:
(PI) TIP
(OT) TUO
(IY) EYI
(EU) ETU
(YR) QRY
(TQ) QET
(YR) WRY
(UT) WTU
QETI

and it sounds pretty cool when you play it.

b.t.w. that picture is amazing!

Ben Lahnger 06-11-2011 11:27 AM

Holy crap! I never got the keyboard association! I just made mine by zooming the mouse cursor around the screen! LMAO!

Ami 06-12-2011 04:25 AM

hahahaha that was very brave of you

Ben Lahnger 06-12-2011 10:21 AM

What the hell is Facebook CAPTCHA into?!?

Never before, has the "What's This?" link of a CAPTCHA screen become quite this relevant and necessary.

Saya 06-12-2011 10:28 AM

Is that legit?!

What made my day: falling asleep on the phone this morning with someone I adore, and this:

Ben Lahnger 06-12-2011 10:33 AM

That poster is pretty cool.

Saya, I downloaded the pic from The Attack of the Show's blog, and they're pretty good about verifying things like this before they post them.

Ben Lahnger 06-13-2011 04:58 PM
