Look at it this way, when sports leagues usually start there's a problem of a few teams consistently dominating all others, and most women's leagues are young. There was a lot of talk after the last winter Olympics that we should get rid of women's hockey because it always comes down to the US and Canada. So Japan not only got further than any other Asian team by getting the semi finals, but they won the cup! It shakes it up a lot, makes the sport more interesting and its less of a justification to dismiss women's sports.

Plus, those penalty shots were abysmal, America.

So, hurrah for the team with better penalty shot results!

*more sarcasm ... in case it wasn't nakedly obvious*

Still sore about it? XD The penalty shots were terrible, but there was a ton of missed shots in the game as well. Japan plays better tactically, the American team was more relying on being bigger and stronger, you know? Kick the ball as hard as you can and hope for the best, which is probably why the ball kept going over the net.

Besides, America got to the finals by beating Brazil in a penalty shoot out. They've relied on having better penalty shot results before :P

... in that, even though I was a little heart-broken by the U.S. women's loss, it has got to be a great inspiration and perhaps even a bit of a balm to the people of Japan while they are engaged in recovering from the quake, tsunami and Fukishima Nuclear plant disaster. It's a lot like when the New Orleans Saints won the American football championship after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina ... that moment gave a lot of people in tragic, desperate straits some hope and a moment of joy.

So I'm not hatin'. The women from Japan deserved to win. More importantly, I think their country needed it.

Saya and Versus' incessant flirting makes me sick, I said I had won a dance battle, which is impressive and deserves praise, and it was ignored in favour of those two making googly eyes at each other. All in favour of banning these shameless displays of lust say I.

I'm upset because a friend in my platoon died in a firefight last friday night, so I haven't been talking to her otherwise. It'll pass.
