Best metalcore/post-hardcore bands?
Title of thread says it all.
|
Well, metalcore and post-hardcore are really not the same thing at all but here goes:
Metalcore - Converge, Cave-In, Unearth, Norma Jean, Earth Crisis, Shai Hulud, Chimaira, Underoath, Integrity, Rorschach Post-hardcore - Fugazi, Embrace, Rites of Spring, Nation of Ulysses, Drive Like Jehu, Unsane, Hot Water Music, Cap'n Jazz, At the Drive-In, Bear Vs. Shark, Snowing, Sunny Day Real Estate, Brand New, Glassjaw, Unwound |
Metalcore--- The devil wears prada, Norma Jean, Underoath, August burns red, Killswitch engage
Post hardcore--- Attack attack, The fall of troy, The used, Silverstein, Hawthorne Heights (sorry I did like them), AFI, Alesana, Saosin, Thursday, My chemical romance (like them too), Chiodos, etc etc... Listing all these bands are bringing back nostalgic memories... D: |
Big Black.

All of those are good examples. Minus Attack Attack. They're not post-hardcore. They're metalcore.

Oddly, I thought I had Death Metal friends on YouTube. If I do, they are difficult to find now. Elder Groth is a visual artist not a musician. So here is an article related to all things metal. I like Emperor probably the best.

I personally really like a band called "I Am Ghost"
they make somewhat eerie post-hardcore music. Armor For Sleep is also pretty good, since they set a somewhat silent-mood. |
check out Brother Bear! they are a post hardcore band from santa rosa, CA
brotherbearca.bandcamp.com facebook.com/wearebrotherbear for fans of pianos become the teeth, touche amore, killing the dream etc! |
I always thought - and I'm not the only one - the "post-hardcore" label was to be sued for bands like Neurosis, Isis, Cult Of Luna... Well, seems like definitions vary from continent to contient.

Meat Puppets are fucking GOD.
|
As much as people like to hate on them, and as much as I hate to admit that I like them, whatever, I like Asking Alexandria (they're insanely good live) and the old Escape the Fate with Ronnie Radke (I like the slightly husky/throaty voice) as lead singer.
Ok, other good hardcore bands... Trapped Under Ice Stick To Your Guns Madball And just for the heck of it...some good deathcore bands... The Black Dahlia Murder The Red Chord Job for a Cowboy The Acacia Strain Winds of Plague =) =) |
Oh, and Thursday...they're awesome live!
|
Random fact: Cory LaQuay from A Skylit Drive is tremendously talented when it comes to playing drums.
I don't really like the band as a whole, except for a few songs that somewhat enjoyable, I do need the obligation to give credit where credit is due, and that kid has mad drumming skills. =) |

Thanks! Been digging on them again since I've been in the hospital. All I have left to find is their Peel Sessions album and I will then own all their albums. |
