Eek, even Adelaide seems like the middle of nowhere to me, haha. I feel your pain though - I used to live in Malaysia, which in goth terms is a lifeless desert.
Just check the Hot Topic website for their shipping arrangements, but be prepared to pay a high price. I think your DIY idea would be a way better option.
