I'm not sure if that is accurate, in some cases it can be ruled that the father continue to pay to maintain a standard of living as long as he is still able to continue to make that amount of money so he would still have to pay if he quit his job, especially if he has made a threat to work under the table as a way to get out of making payments. Maybe your aunt could see if she could get something like this in her case, I would think so but I don't know the local laws.
