Just out of curiosity, do you hate in just on general principle, or did you read it and dislike what you found in it?
For me, I absolutely hated
The Alienist by Caleb Carr.
This hack essentially ate Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes stories, went on a
CSI bender, then shat out a steaming pile many people apparently mistook for a work of literature. It received lots of acclaim a number years ago. How this happened, I have no idea.
