I'm possessed of a weird tendency to feel apathy. It really doesn't do me many favors. It's easy to see someone in your shoes saying,
"What the hell? Someone just randomly died, why? Couldn't that happen..." and you want to say, 'to me?' but you don't... instead you timidly probe the ways it could. The akwardness, the fear... maybe the fear doesn't become prominent, but perhaps it is an instinct in human beings to feel as if the presence of Death lingers. You can't help but feel a little weird....
It would make great anime if Death really DID linger, too. It kinda reminds me of Sandman--"If I had known YOU were Death, I would've died sooner!"
But that's just me.
