I still think the riots were kicked off by provactures from the police (it has happened before in other places).

The Police didn't hesitate to use water cannons and brutal tactics against student demonstrators months before,what is to say that the whole damn thing isn't meant to "show" the public that they need more police on the streets ? *cough* Job security *cough*
