I would say that Goths are drawn to things of a more morbid and melancholy nature. As cliche as it sounds, it is true; Poe, Lovecraft, Byron, Dickinson...etc. It's not true of all Goths, though and some despise Poe Or Lovecraft(can't stand the latter, myself).
