Replace God with The Universe and you have one explanation why people need God to exist. (Because they cannot comprehend an eternal universe).
There is no difference in regards to a finite perception of infinity, both are difficult for us to comprehend, but both scenarios are described by men. One was defined scientifically, the other with imagination.
