The fact that people use magical thinking instead of reason and logic, that people will deny reality that is right in front of their face, in favor of a fantasy that makes them feel good.
That people use these lies and fantasies as excuses to hate, kill, and control the lives of others, when in reality, they have no business doing so.
One of the biggest problems we have, is that there are a vast majority of people who choose to follow a book a fairytales written by superstitious, ignorant bronze age nomads, instead of thinking critically and actively testing their knowledge, throwing out ideas that don't stand up to trial and keeping the ones that do.
TL;DR: People being mentally lazy, superstitious idiots are the problem. Learning critical thinking, logic, and reason are the best possible solutions.
