I wrote a new poem. Not sure it's any good.

Being in Love:

I am broken. I am battered. I am torn and I am dead.
When I close my eyes these days, I see nothing but your face.
My hand against your cheek and face, a soul that touches soul,
but when I open up my eyes, the darkness stirs within.
For truly, even though I hope, you are not my love.
All I really want to see, a smile across your face.
But I am not the reason why you smile and laugh and love.
I am not a bit to you of what you are to me.

In my eyes I see you, perfect, an amaranth unspoiled,
A flower blooming in the desert hot and dry and dead.
You give me wing, you lift my soul, you make me smile and laugh,
but when I think that you're not mine, I cry my silent tears.
The wise men say, as is the truth, that eyes show forth your soul,
and if it's true, avoid my eyes, for they are dark and dead.
So leave me be, for it is done, and I am far too gone,
gone in love, drenched in hate and drowning in despair.

Forget me not, and keep my memory.
