Anything to do with the Eurovision cannot and should not be taken seriously. I wish I could see that video, but youtube.com is blocked at work due to it being "tasteless & offensive" (I work for the video games publisher who released Leisure Suit Larry. Pot, meet kettle etc.) But there is no doubt that if the band has any "Goth" aspirations, it is a poor and cheesy rip-off.
Anyone seen the Father Ted episode "Song for Europe"? It's a fantastic and spot-on jibe at the hallowed competition, on which the emerald isle used to base its national self-esteem.
And horrorgirl, just because we're not all from Europe doesn't mean that something particularly Eurocentric is automatically irrelevant. The Eurovision has a universal appeal. It's like watching a train crash. Or a beauty pageant. It's sickening, horrific, and makes you rush back to the comforting arms of Nietzsche.
