Don't worry. Come spring, you'll be thinking "This is glorious! I can open my coat!" at the same temperature.
I went to Newfoundland some years ago, and I was struck by how late the lilacs bloom. They bloom in May for us, but they were blooming in late June when I was there.
I also remember some trees that smelled like a hobo had urinated on them.
Had a great time. Wouldn't mind living there. I'd want to live in downtown St John's though so I wouldn't have to drive as much. Those hills made me nervous even in a turbo car.
