There are people who are proficient studio singers. There are people who are great songwriters. And then there are people who have singularly unique voices ... distinct and unmistakeable. Lou Rawls was one of those voices.
For decades he has been one of my favorite male singers ... I am really saddened by the knowledge that I will never hear him sing live again.
