I thought I'd start this game up again. It was lots of fun when it was still around Anyway, it works like this. We start out with six bands, genres don't matter. Each band starts with 10 points, and when they reach 0 they're replaced by another band. When you reply, you get to add 1 point to a band of your choice, and subtract 1 point from another. So it works like so:
