Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL.

Robert Wyatt

No, Robert Wyatt is NOT goth. Never was, never will be. But this old man recorded some of the gloomiest, sadest piece of records ever to be released, like the eerie "Rock Bottom"... Anyone into his stuff ? I've just been listening to his new record :

this is not a Robert Wyatt masterpiece/milestone like Rock Bottom or his previous, Comicopera, but it's a really nice album, navigating between relaxed luminous jazz (there are several standarts here, like ROund Midnight), darker ballads and refreshing oddities like the pro-palestinian arabic rap of Where Are They Now... Which makes even more sense knowing this record is a collaboration with an israeli sax player, Gilad Atzmon. Robert Wyatt, never dead, always red !
