Blue streak dye too dark?

Last year I got electric blue streaks, they looked awesome. Very visible and distinct and I kept them in for about two months. Today I got them done again, same hair stylist and same brand of coloured dye. About a month ago I dyed my whole hair a shade darker of my natural darkish brown so it's pretty much one or two steps away from black. It seems that the blue is just not as distinct as last time, When I look at my hair in my peripheral I can definitely see blue but when looking in a mirror it looks like darkish violet and doesn't contrast well with the rest of my hair.

Is there anything I can do to get the blue stand out properly?

Did you get the section of hair bleached? I mean the section you dyed blue.

What type of dye did you use, and how often do you wash your hair?

I got it done today, haven't washed it yet. The dye is the same Dickson Meches I used last year.

Does anyone else experience blue dye rubbing off? My white pillowcase is stained blue and when I straighten my hair with an iron, I get stains on my hand. The colour hasn't faded though, is this just excess dye that will eventually stop coming off?
