'Anwar al-Awlaki has been singled out by U.S. officials as a key terrorist threat and has been added to the CIA's list of targets for assassination despite his American citizenship.'
Turns out America has a 'kill list' of people they will kill if they find. This is the first American that has been added to it, added because of what he said. It doesn't matter if you disagree with the man or his views, one has to wonder about a government which keeps a list of its own citizens that it wants to assassinate, and the legality behind it. Aside from being banned under the Geneva Convention, assassination has not been accepted since the middle ages. Then again the CIA has been doing it for some time and no one has called them out on it.
I mean, if some whack-job preacher in pigs-knuckle arkansas starts preaching that he wants to kill all muslims, will that mean it is ok to have him killed as well? Oh wait, there are a dozen or more doing this. Anyone else watch the documentary 'Jesus Camp'?
Are they only selecting people for death who advocate killing certain people? Who gets to decide? How far do you have to go in your free speech before America decides to have you executed? Does this not infringe on many of an Americans rights (i.e. freedom of speech, right to a trial, etc.)?
Seems like America is becoming more and more like what it claims to be fighting every day.
