I have a feeling inside of me...
Or rather I don't.
Not the one I feel I should have.
It's my birthday tomorrow and rather than the usual:
"YAY PRESENTS"
I feel that I really couldn't care less.
Could this be that for this year it rests on a school day and I feel it'll just feel like another day?
Or could it be due to thinking about other things?
I actually don't know how anyone can help but I find it helps to get it down in writing and I enjoy posting on the forum.
Thank you.

hrm.. my 15, 16, and 17th birthdays, i unfortunately got sick.. i think three years in a row kinda killed it for me.. all my birthday's since then have been kinda 'meh....' my 22nd birthday is probably the best birthday i can remember having.. but mostly because the drugs were good and the band was better..
wasn't long after that i got married and had a kid.. so.. no more drugs... and now i'm a single dad.. my daughter's birthdays are much more exciting than min now hahaha

for the past two years my birthdays have fallen on school days when I've had exams. It does fuck it up a bit. I wasn't really able to celebreate at all.

Eh Birthdays lost their charm for me back in the 90s, around the same time I learned that if I ever wanted anything I had to pay for it myself because my parents always end up imposing on me what I "should want"(sports and outdoor hobby stuff).

Birthdays have gotten alot less exciting for me over the years and I'm only 18.
Maybe it's a growing up thing or something?

They have become a day of reflection for me.

I look in the mirror and say "aw shit, another wrinkle!".

My birthday was the third, I wasn't as excited as most people get, I was a bit paranoid that everything was going to fall apart like they had for the last two years, and I was upset that it was on a school day, when it's normally not. I made it through though! I lived to be fifteen, and that's an accomplishment!

I don't get excited about them because nobody remembers mine....
Which is okay though because they haven't really been a big deal for me since I was about 9.
Just a growing up thing I guess, or just getting bored of the routine.
