zomg religion thread

i used to practice neo-paganism and wicca. both were interesting and i learned a lot. it really changed my view of the world. for example, through manipulation of my aura i can attain a state something like psychological invisibility.

i know there are pagans on this forum and i'd like to see what they have to say. what are some of your favorite aspects of occultism and/or psychicism? what is your favorite sabbat or ritual?

i like beltane. ^_^

Im not a wiccan, or pagan, but Ive converted from it, and I have quite a few relatives in my family that are pagans, (voodoo, or neo-paganism, I cant tell exactly).
Actually, paganism has changed the way that I view my own religion, and the world, Im actually more in touch with myself, and the with world around me today.

it is interesting how, as a christian myself, paganism made me completely rethink what i believe. i modified my beliefs somewhat and i'm now more confident as a christian.

Same here.
But the bible states that all things like fortune telling, auras, spirituality, horoscopes, naturism, etc, are all works of the devil, or satanism. If those are the works of satan, then its ironic how he makes this world interesting...

But anyway, I am spiritual, and aware of mysticism, afterall, who isnt? No offense to god, but...I have to get spiritual to understand my life, and to understand my own connection with god.

god told us to test all things and hold fast that which is good. i believe that and so i did. i kept the faith throughout my practice of those other religions and always kept christianity foremost in my mind so that i didn't forget who i am.

and getting back on track:

i think that the human aura is like an organ that people have forgotten how to use. i use it for a number of things.

Why believe in such a thing as the metaphysical?
Aura is at best a word to describe a non-analytical feeling regarding personal interaction.

Yes because god created everything and god is omnipotent so he would have known what would have happened.

i see the human aura as being a bio-electric field which resonates with other physical bodies, including the planet.

What lead you to make this conclusion?

i studied mitochondria, radio waves and other seemingly unrelated jazz. i also experimented with electronic equipment and found that the human body really does have some sort of field.

not to mention i can give a person a headache just by directing energy at their forehead.

Not really. That's like saying your mother gets credit for everything you do. Your mom may have been the one who made you, but in the end you are in charge of your own actions. The devil became the devil as a result of him not wanting to follow God anymore, proving the devil has free will. If he didn't then God would have never let the issue come up.

Yes but your mother isn't omnipotent...god is which means he has full control of what ever will happen in the future. And also that he knows the what the course of history would be.

I'm Pagan. It changed my life by...well...it didn't really. I have always had my own beliefs and finding out about paganism was just a way to reassure myself that there were others that agreed. Also, I feel more in controll of life in general because of it, I don't feel like a victim of fate.

I used to have a religion, then I reached the age of wisdom, and threw out such a childish thing.

So ... black and white are the same color , right?

Do you believe that without color there's no image at all?

Pagan describes a huge number of religions, most of which have nothing to do with each other. Are you interested in any particular religion, or in only those that relate somehow to occultism and/or incorporate psychic practices?

Okay, sorry, but there's a flag on that play. I was quietly tolerating all the gibberish in this thread, but when the claims of supernatural abilities come out - especially any which could be held over others as a threat - I raise the bullshit flag.

You better have some spectacular evidence to back that one up.

If you really do have any such power, you might as well go for the million dollars.

What equipment did you employ in your studies of the mitochondria and radio waves and what were the studied aspects? Were your or your team's results published? Were they veriffied by other researchers? And are you sure that, by endeavouring to study a multitude of "seemingly unrelated jazz", you were able to make use of the necessary and sufficient knowledge and resources for a proper study of each?

But that would be BORING.

I used to not believe in the metaphysical. I was the most aggressive, "Oh yeah? Prove it!" person you've ever met. I've always tried to be objective and analytical about religion and the spirit world.

That lasted up until I saw my first ghost. Unfortunately, however you may feel about the metaphysical, sometimes it believes in YOU.

Now I just admit that there's a lot I don't know.
