Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

Depeche Mode
Since there seem to be so many fans here, I thought that there should be a thread about the afforementioned band. If you like them, what are your favorite songs? Have they really been worthy of all of the fame they have received?
Basically, this is a thread dedicated to the band. Enjoy.

Great. What better a start than with a song from 1981?

My favorite DM song is "Condemnation" from their album Songs of Faith and Devotion. I also really like "Judas."

Those are good ones. Slow ones, but good ones.

Some other really good songs from the '90s-era DM: Insight, Home, anything from SOFAD.

I have only heard "Enjoy the silence", but I enjoyed it rather well.

You know what's depressing? After reading the Age thread, I realize now that some of you weren't even born when I first started listening to Depeche Mode. And then *I* was the one saying age didn't matter... pff
Anyway, as to Depeche Mode. I'm partial to their first albums since I literally played those to pieces, so my favorite is "People are People".

I'm still wishing for another US tour.

On a side note, when was their last US tour?
On-topic: I said before that I first started with DM's nineties material and worked my way forward, then back. I had never seen DM's records in a store before I first heard them on TV, so I liken my experience to that of (some) of the original fans. This summer actually marks the second anniversary of the first time I heard 'Enjoy the Silence'.
