Does everyone remember the show "Big Wolf on Campus"? It used to air on ABC Family (back when it was Fox Family). The character of Merton was portrayed as kind of a dorky goth guy and was the best friend of the protagonist (who was a werewolf)

Goth Talk from SNL! Kudos for making Jeff Goldblum a goth! That was incredibly awesome!
Edit: Not a single skit of Goth Talk from SNL on YouTube... What the hell?
Some have said Abby, but she's more a metalhead if I recall. I kind of like her look in the sense she reminds me a bit of Chibi from The Birthday Massacre.

I think that they were removed by Youtube due to copyright restrictions.

I don't know if this counts but it's funny as hell.

Whoever made it put a lot of stereotypes in it, but the humor makes up for them in my opinion.

Lulu from Final Fantasy X. Pretty much the only goth in the game while everyone else is wearing traditional-like costumes.
Re-I Mayer from Ergo Proxy. http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/l...xy-Posters.jpg
Amy Lee anyone?

How about Slim Twig, as Billy Zero, in The Tracey Fragments?

My best friend and I love the mighty Boosh because it's the only show that has a friendship dynamic like ours (he's about 10 years older than me and is deffinitely Howard Moon to my Vince. And Naboo is our "guy" haha).
Anyway, this commercial is the best portrayal of goths ever.

I'm 19, and people think I'm crotchety, too. Fuck 'em, I can get into 21-and-up bars without being carded and they can't.

Zombie thread, but I'd add Edward Scissorhands as perhaps the most iconographic goth in a film, and Cassie from RL Stine's The Haunting Hour, because about halfway through she had me yelling, "Yeah, you go, little babybat!", because her character is never turned "normal" for a happy ending, and because
I suspect that character on the left is an homage to elder goths everywhere.

I love that movie even thoug i am a bit old for it at 22 .But it's great that she does not get changed more than i can say for the bigoted atrocity that is hangmans curse.

I've seen both sides of the coin. It's getting better for sure but when there's characters like Kyra in the book "The Astonishing Adventures of Fanboy and Goth Girl" I feel like we'll never be saved.
But other ones like you all have mentioned (Abby, especially) show goths in a positive light.

*rant mode - please forgive the sudden dump of negativity*
Why won't they put some freaking eyeliner on Abby? Some of the things they do to her character make me cringe, like her frequent bouts of childish ditzyness and naiveté; and frankly, some of the outfits she wears...well, they look like they were pulled out of Hot Topic's dumpster, and if she walked into a club wearing them, she'd be pinned as a normal out for a night. Granted, she looked gorgeous at Jenny's funeral, but...
It's really that I hate to see a great opportunity for respectful and semi-realistic portrayals of the subculture to be wasted on comic relief. There's a sense of it being demeaning.
*okay, I'm done bitching and taking things way too seriously*

while I heart Abby in NCIS, I would say I like real life gothic persons that are in the media....
For instance... Jillian Venters, aka "The Lady of the Manners"
Very cool personality, and I think she gives gothic a different twist.

Vincent Valentine (Final Fantasy VII + FF7 Dirge Of Cerberus)... And Gríma Wormtongue (The goth guy that lurks around the castle in Rohan in Lord Of The Rings).
