Introducing myself

Hello, everyone. Allow me to, well, introduce myself; I am Michael Day, an 18-year-old artist and budding novelist. I recently discovered this website, and have decided to become a part of its community. Since it's my obligation as a new user to answer these specific bio questions, allow me to do so:

Q. What do you do? (Hobbies, job)
A. As I stated before, I'm both an artist and a budding novelist, but definitely more of an artist; I've been working with pencils, pens and paper since as far as I can remember.

Q. Where are you from?
A. That's an interesting question, as I've moved around quite a bit; I was born in New Jersey, but as of now I live in Tennessee.

Q. Who is your favorite author?
A. I have two specific favorites: Gaston Leroux and Edgar Allan Poe.

Q. What are your favorite films?
A. The Crow, The Crow: City Of Angels, Dracula (1931), The Phantom Of The Opera (1925 and 1989)

Q. What music do you want played at your wedding?
A. "All I Ask Of You"

Q. At your funeral?
A. Chopin's "Marcha Funebre"

Q. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?
A. I'd prefer to die peacefully in bed, with loved ones at my side. Maybe at night?

Q. What kind of casket would you want?
A. A black coffin with a shiny finish and a silver crucifix pinned to the top. I demand class and quality in my demise!

Q. What's your FAVORITE outfit?
A. Well, since I unfortunately have very little money (and, so far, no job), I haven't been able to purchase Gothic attire. ^^; But there IS something to be said about slacks and a pitch-black collared shirt.

Q. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?
A. The innocent bliss of ignorance.

Q. What's your favorite band?
A. Nox Arcana, if that counts.

Q. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?
A. I'm hoping to be a major in Graphic Art.

Q. Why did you join?
A. I would like to explore the Gothic subculture a little bit more, and joining a Gothic community is sure to help with that.

Q. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?
A. Male.

Well, that's it for my introduction. Thank you for reading, and have a good one.

What kind of things do you like to draw? Is there a specific medium and style you like to work in? Have you ever considered combining the writing and drawing and looking into creating graphic novels as opposed to keeping the two things seperate?

What I draw really depends on the mood I'm in or whatever's on my mind at the moment. I'm good with drawing human figures, and am currently working on my scenery skills. I HAVE considered making graphic novels, and am also working to hone my skills in that regard as well.

Cool. Good luck with that. I've always found the trick to scenery is getting the perspective right, not that I draw seriously, I just do it for my own amusement.

Still, good advice. Thanks for that.
