I've been smoking for almost over seven years. This morning I coughed up black bloody mucus. I really hope that it's just from a bloody nose while i was sleeping, which isn't uncommon for me. But, it's still a scary thing.

I'd be slapping on a nicotine patch right now and getting to the doctor
Good luck with it and I hope it was just from your nose.

I hate being broke when I'm supposed to give someone a gift. My friend is having a baby shower Saturday and at this point basically all of our money is being saved up to afford to go home before we get stationed even farther from home (which I'm still pretty sure we wont be able to do unless family pick up about half of the cost).
I was thinking of maybe making a baby blanket but all of the yarn I have right is either not soft enough for a baby or not machine washable (which you really, really want a baby blanket to be).
I'm going to make cupcakes so at least I wont be showing up completely empty handed but I still feel like a bum for not getting something for, ya know, the baby.
I guess I could make a few bath products, something soothing/calming/stress relieving. Moms with new babies need those so that makes them a good baby shower gift, right? I think I have all of the ingredients on hand and I could use some of my Halloween jars that haven't been painted yet, but I don't have a basket or box to put them in. Oh well at least it's something.

I hear you! My roommate's birthday is coming up and I want to get her something extra nice because she's the reason I got my new job, but I gotta wait til the paycheck that comes two days after her actual birthday. I let her know so I still feel bad.
My BFF is pregnant and I was planning to get her nice soaps and lotions and stuff for Christmas, so I think that's a great idea. I think too that most people will bring stuff for the baby but not much for the mother. There's a gift basket I want to give my friend that has nipple balm in it which I think is hilarious, but my mom said she would have killed for something like that XD

So today I tried to get help for my sleep and panic attacks that have been bothering me since my first deployment. I'm not surprised how it went but it still pisses me off.

I'm sorry V. Are you mad because the help you're getting is aggravating or because it's difficult to get any treatment? Both are 100% understandable, especially when dealing with the military, which is kind of shit when it comes to the mental health and well being of service members.
Saya apparently baby's can really tear up your nips while they feed, some nips even end up getting scabs (mine hurt just thinking about it) so I guess nipple butter would be kind of awesome. I looked around online and found out that some of the stuff I make is actually good for babies too, for example the oat bath is good for preventing and soothing diaper rash, so it turns out I have a couple of things for mom and a few for her and baby.
That being said I still have a rant related to this shower gift. I have these Avery labels that I got ages ago for some forgotten project and figured they would be great for these jars. They have a website where you just put in the product number and it brings up the proper template so you can easily design your labels. The website part is great. Super easy to use, good selection of fonts and pictures, very user friendly. The problem is when you go to print. First off I had to fuss around with it because they printed about 1/3 inch to the left and 3/8 inch down from where they should have, it was annoying and ruined the first sheet of labels I tried to print on but I got it sorted and I still have plenty more sheets. The other issue I had was that the font did not print looking the way it did on the website, looked great online but there was no kerning in the printed version. Now I'm not sure if this is a fault with Avery or if it is just another manifestation of my printer's hatred of functioning properly. They still look okay according to Jake and my hand is still cramped from Halloween invitations so they will have to do.

Mental health can be a bitch, whether it's getting help or dealing with unsuitable help/asshats. Keep trying V-man!
Oww.. yes, it might not be the most glam item but give her the nipple balm!

If there is anything that I can do to help, please let me know.

The only thing you can do Versus is keep bugging them about it to the point where they know your name and everything is documented. Be sure to inform them it's not about sleeping pills or any kind of meds, but that you're looking for a way to treat your condition and if possible if they can refer you to an off post doctor.
I mention this because while in school several of my classmates were dealing with their own problems, but the VA was dragging it's feet because they hadn't properly documented everything prior to getting out, nor did they try any off post options they were offered.

That doesn't surprise me, either. Most people don't say anything for a lot of reasons. Between the time it took me to realize what was going on and the time it took for me decide that I don't want to deal with it anymore, I've seen a former ETS date go by twice. Most people don't reenlist at all so not shit nothing is going to be documented. I get the impression that your VA likes to pretend that you're an expert and don't have any reason to keep you from coming up on the net. Give me a fucking break. Why is there a time limit?

You've got me. I think a lot of it has to do with lazy staff myself who just don't do the job they were hired for. Then again, my VA's so over whelmed with four major installations, numerous retirees and the main hospital at Ft. Sam Houston. Most of the time vets are referred to some local outpatient clinic, but that's after fighting with the VA for months at a time. Many of my friends have gotten to the point of giving up.

The second. I'm just frustrated because I want to get it started quickly so I can't change my mind. It's not really something I'm super enthusiastic about and I can see myself giving up if they make it as difficult as it has been.

...I'm politically moving to the middle. NO. Not because capitalism has a point, but because there is ZERO discipline and unity in the left. The left wants more pluralism. The left wants more of a rainbow capitalism with a human face with a good bit of charity capitalism. I've come to realize that the left has ZERO ZZZEEEERRRROOOO hawkish thoughts. Oh. Rush Limbaugh or some right wing idiot is disparaging gays? Well let's not destroy that guy. I mean. He has a right to make the lives of so many hell by being a role model for poisonous self hating poor people who'd rather suffer harder if they knew a black boy could die for it.
I'm moving to the middle because even though I hold a pure HATE for the right wing of politics, the left wing has lost its fucking mind in the name of a loving brand of micro capitalism (damn any kind of socialism that could actually be tried).
Fuck it. I'm going radish. You guys let me know when another big ol' whopping feminist/lgbtq/PoC or Occupy protest is going down so I can invest in Crayola and posterboards in the stock markets.

I like the Raddish party as well. Let's do this! Mybe one day we'll even get a raddish president!
Seriously though, fuck all the politics. I'm tired of this crap and I'm tired of living in a town filled with Republican's who are only Republican, because they like guns.

I need a fucking job so bad right now. I've sent out 300+ job applications in the past 2 months and not even had as much as a rejection.

TIL there's a name for it. I like radish better than moderate anyway. I actually had to look it up... you would not believe how many pages of literal radish parties I had to wade through to figure out what you guys were on about.
Jackson, good luck, I hope you find something soon.

I know what you mean Jackson. I posted my resume` months ago and finally achieved my associates last month. Until I find a decent job, I'll have to tolerate rocking a register.

I would settle for a job at a register but my previous employer was too cheap to give us registers so we used Quickbooks on our desktop and had a bag of cash (not like a paper bag, a zipper bag from the bank) so despite having cashiering experience I have no experience on a register, and since the unemployment rate here is sky high that was apparently a deal breaker for the few people who had been thinking about hiring me.
Oh well only here for another month and a half (if the government gets its shit together so we can actually get Jake's orders and the PCS office opens back up) and employment prospects on Oahu are much better.

They have registers at McDonald's.
Just a thought. I'm not being rude either. One of my first jobs was pizza delivery driving and I know how to give people change.

Um yeah even the McDonalds here aren't hiring unless you have fast food experience, which I don't. I'm more than willing to do any job but jobs are just insanely hard to come by and there are a shit ton of people looking for work so employers are able to be very, very picky.

I know what you mean. The job market here is better, yet Employers can still be more picky than ever.
One thing I used to do is put the same date to begin work as the same day I filled out the application. I'd often get hired that day. Seeming too picky about finding a job is sometimes a problem.

That sucks. Job hunting is just the *worst*, so I feel your pain! Have you tried contacting anyone back?
