Watched the third Underworld movie last night, and I'm kinda confused as to my reaction to it.

I love the cast. The actors involved with the first and third movies are all top-notch, and the 2nd one wasn't bad either (though there really wern't many characters involved with that one). Viktor alone is a good reason to watch a movie; Bill Nighy is an amazing actor. Michael Sheen is also good, and he actually gets to act in this one.

The movie itself... well it has a major case of prequel-itis. You know how the movie ends. It's worse than Titanic in that regard; sure you knew that the boat sinks in the end, but you don't know what the movie itself is going to show (just using Titanic for reference; I hate the movie in it's entierty). You know the plot of this movie; you know where the conflic comes from, you know who goes to what side, and you know how everyone is going to end up at the end of it.

Still, it's a gorgeous movie to watch; very good special effects and as I've said an amazing bunch of actors. I just wish they had used a plot that everyone didn't know ahead of time.

I watched both Audition and irreversible the other night. I actually really enjoyed both, and have no idea what all the fuss is about irreversible. I found it harder watching a woman have her face smashed in than the rest of it. In itself though, it was a good film. Audition on the other hand was possibly the most bizarre thing I have seen in a while. The ending was a huge let down, and the beginning took far too long to get going.

Also saw Requiem for a dream last night. I'm going to make my partner watch it when he's lucid. Personally, I thought it was a brilliant film. It made me remember things and think about a current situation.

Mongol. Not as much action as expected but still a good film.

Coonskin, which is a great satire film that's pretty adventurous socially and visually, and it's hilarious in places. Also, A Clockwork Orange, I don't expect to have to tell anyone that this film rules.

2001: A Space Odyssey. Acknowledged as one of the greatest films of all time, and no matter how much praise it is given, I will still feel that it is underrated, because it's that fucking good.

Alien vs. Predator... A few of my friends and I acted out the Mayan sacrifice scene in a drama class, so I had to rewatch the movie.

House of 1,000 corpses
I started watching it at my friends house Tuesday, and decided to see the end.
I liked the inferred campiness of it more than anything.

Do the Right Thing, Full Metal Jacket and My Beautiful Launderette. I think I'll watch Fargo to end the night.

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest.

The French assistant at our school exactly resembles the Nurse Ratched of the movie. It's a little terrifying.

Spiderman 3. I wasn't crazy about it the last time I saw it, and now I can't remember why - it was pretty good.

And The Breakfast Club. I fucking love that movie.

If you haven't already read it, I highly recommend the book. Completely different, and infinitely superior - I like the movie, but the book is so awesome it's ridiculous.
