That isn't up for debate, anymore than there would be room for a debate if I explained to you that the reason I reject Christianity is because of how the Bible says God made the moon out of green cheese as a vacation home for Elvis.
So far so good?

Ah, well put, yes so far so good and this was a reasonable explanation.
They never explained this in my biology classes. It should be made mandatory.

Will do, thanks for the recommendation.

Or that God has multiple-personality issues.

By the way, my point still stands (let me put it another way) :
Observation of self defeating behavior and the subsequent consequences led to a set of rules to avoid these self defeating actions, and those resulting rules are more reasonable to follow than worshiping the Greek gods and their whims.

It is a moot point. I don't care. I also don't care to bash others' on their belief system. I only want people to know of as many varying opinions/perspectives as possible, and draw their own conclusions. Beating people into submission accomplishes nothing. If anything, it just drives them further back towards their chosen faith.
What people believe in is irrelevant to me. The only problem I have is with the seemingly nonexistent separation of the church/mosque and state. I am not prepared to argue this point either. We all live in our own self-defined representations of reality.

Ok, that's cool. But I never saw your comment (or Drake's) as bashing. I find straightforward questions helpful in the same way Socrates used them: to look at one's beliefs with a critical eye and try to understand if there is a valid reason, or at least a reason one can accept for oneself.
This may sound silly coming from someone who is just a member of an internet forum, and who has stated that he tries not to take this place too seriously, but I have made several different changes in my life and in my thinking because of some of the hard questions that have been asked here (sometimes asked of others, where I have watched from the sidelines).
As Siouxsie sang about in Happy House, I do not want to keep wearing "blinkers", but would rather see everything, the good and the bad, and that includes the pros and cons of religious faith.
So I look forward to discussing this further, but if people don't care (because admittedly this has been discussed countless times before) then that's cool too.
I wish Socrates would join Gnet.
