I guess I should have added to my list of pet peeves or things I hate in another thread, it`s PEOPLE TALKING DURING MOVIES!!!!!!
Especially when it`s little teenagers who actually think they`re FUNNY!!!
I can`t tell you how many times I`ve wanted to walk out of a theatre and walk back in with an automatic weapon!!!
Seriously, I don`t get why some people think themselves more entertaining than what`s on the screen.... I guess the only way to watch a movie in peace these days is by video rental.

So the Grudge??? Is that what this movie`s called??? I`ve seen posters for it everywhere, but the movie title consisted of a bunch of squiggly lines(damn me and my inability to read Kanji, I feel like an illiterate retard)

The last movie I watched was Van Helsing, and I wasn't as impressed as I thought I'd be.

it's about a guy that was taken away from his father (a second geeration undertaker and farmer) who returns 15 years later and awakens the HARVEST OF BLOOD!!!! *insert satanic laugh and EPS' death rattle*
father undertaker who aciidentally killed grandpa undertaker (or so we think) scares the shit out of prodigal son and his friends and they try to leave.. their transport breaks down.. *big heaping shock* and the end back up at the farm of extreme campiness..err.. uh i mean horror  :x *grrrrr*
people have sex, people die..
the one black guy dies *yet again with the heaping shock*
this time 4 people get away but i smell a sequel brecause grandson killed grandpa, but daddy lived and took over the HARVEST OF BLOOD!!! *again with the creepy laugh and EPS' death rattle*

Queen of the Damned....

it was cool...but alliyah {sp?} wasn't the right person for the role...she seemed too young to play the whole 'few-thousand-year-old-vampire-queen' role .... sorry had to vent on that ... there's mucgh more too....

That movie sucked too.....

C`mon, they`re at a GOTH club and the first thing we hear is Disturbed making monkey noises?? I mean, seriously, is this what the average mainstreamer thinks goths listen to????

And the acting.... ohhhh the acting!!! I`ve seen campy 50s movies played with more passion!!
The part where Alliyah is trying to seduce Townsend reminds me of one of those cheesy old Batman episodes where Catwoman is seducing Batman while telling him her entire diabolical plot.

Definitely not Manson. It’s an avatar my friend made. I don't believe it’s anyone famous.

the last movie I watched was Yossi and Jagger (I think the spellings right) It's in hebrew, about two men in the Israeli army that have to keep their love secret. It's subtitled, and I cried a lot.

a few recent watches

"Ong-Bak"-Now THIS is a fight movie!!!! A young talented fighter leaves his village to retrieve the head of a Buddha statue from a thief in the big city, and incurs the wrath of local gangsters. That's as much of the plot as you need to know. Why? Because tgis puppy's all about action, and it delivers in spades! Intricacies are there, yes, and they're fascinating for us foreigners (I'm sure these intricacies'd be seen as soap-opera-ish by the Thai audience that first saw this film), but they only serve to heighten the impact. And let's talk about impact, as in "I've never felt as much empathetic pain from a single film ever" (including Jackie Chan and his death-defying stunts). And fight choreography?....WOW!!! All I can say after catching most of my breath is this-"Ong-Bak" is my favorite action film since "Time And Tide", yet where "TaT" hits you through editing, "Ong-Bak" knocks you out with movement.

"MoonChild"-If this film lost its last 3rd, I'd whole heartedly shill it for you all (it's got vampire assassins, fer christs sake). However, after an amazing set-up, and a heart-wrenching middle, the director fucked up by having a last third that tried to tie up loose ends in a way that even a three year old could imagine...and would feel cheated by since it felt so fucking generic. However, watching a vampire take on a street-punk as his student, and watching the change of not only the characters, but the world around them...I'll say, watch the first 2/3s for an interesting take on vampire and street thug mythology, then shut the movie off if you want to actually like the film afterwards.

"Penitentiary 3"-OK, so a boxer gets framed for murder, and is sent to a typically evil prison (with a dungean and all) where fights are the way of getting up in the caste system, and because he's a boxer, our main character knows kung-fu....now, what moves this film from "so bad it's good" to "fucking genious exploitation classic" is the Midnight Thud. "What's the Midnight Thud?", you ask? A 4 foot 2, 300 pound black guy whose whole goal is to dismember as many people as possible. And after the scene where he's smoking crack as he's training, you too will understand the pure brilliance of "Penitentiary 3"...so good that I have no urge of seeing either Penitentiary's 1 or 2 for fear of being let down.

"Battle Of Algiers"-all I can say is this-every time I watch this film, I walk away with a different view. The first time I saw it, I thought the film was on the side of the French. The second time, I thought it was on the side of the terrorists. Nowadays, I think it's on the side of the struggle for freedom and self-determination...."BoA" is a verite-like recreation of the terrorist bombings that kicked off the Algierian struggle for independance. Extremely honest and impartial, "BoG" makes one think that they're watching newsreel footage rather than an actual film, and no matter how one thinks of it afterwards, it definately will move you.

You and I seem to have the same taste in movies.

We both loved Spider - man 2 (I can't laud enough praises on Sam Raimi).

And "The Incredibles".

just watched "Saved!" for the first time last night. Thought it was funny as hell, and I really wished i had seen it in a theater with a bunch of unsuspecting bible thumpers. LOTS of parody and stabbing holes in the leaky bag of religion....highly reccomend it if you'd like to see mccauly culkin actually act instead of throwing lawn darts at burglers.

i saw the spongebob movie tonight.

big disappointment.

i fear the creative fire may have gone out. i hope it's not true, but the spongebob in that movie was NOT the loveable spongebob i enjoy on tv.

i know most on here don't appreciate the sophistication that is spongebob - but i love the little yellow dude and this movie bummed me out.

I liked The Incredibles as well. The tiny asain lady was a riot!
... Spongebob? A dissapointment? Even with David Hasselhoff? Oh, well. Squidward is the best.
