They're more Noise/Drone Metal (I might be wrong though), and its definately extreme...so it fits in this thread nicely

Sunn 0))) are a Drone Doom band. Not much point listening unless it's really really loud and you're not doing much else, otherwise it just seems like pointless noise.

Sunn O))) is drone....but....who cares!?

They're amazing and have inspired me alot. Just the way you can hear all these awesome tones underneath droning feedback.

It's too good.

i know, but most of the death metal bands I only like maybe 3 or 4 or their songs. Aaskereia, Anorexia Nervosa, Buzum, Nargaroth, and Agathodaimon I have all of their songs. I love black metal and power metal the most tho. i just happen to have more death metal bands on my itunes, i think some of them i have just one song lol

Iron Maiden is not a hair metal band. They are a "New Wave of British Heavy Metal" band. Just thought you should know the correct classification.

Oh yes. I love black metal. But I have not heard as much as others.

My favorites:

Emperor: Wrath of the Tyrant/Emperor and Prometheus..., But, to tell you the truth, I didn't like In the Nightside Eclipse and most of the songs on Anthems...I love their lyrics. Lyrically, and, well, as a band too, they're one of my favorites.

Opera IX: Sacro Culto and Black Opera. Perfect combination of harshness and melody.

Venom (Well, whatever genre you consider them to be): Welcome to Hell and Bloodlust.

I love all of the genres you mentioned but as for death metal, I listen to melodic death metal. Like Aeturnus. It's death metal but the guitars are played melodically and there are pianos as well. My death metal must have melody. I can't really say there are exceptions. So yeah, that's my general rule. Same with black metal; which is why I am more into the orchestral black metal or viking metal scenes. I don't care about genres, but I guess most of the death metal I listen to would be classified more along the lines of dark metal, cause there's so much melody that usually isn't found in death metal.

As for doom...look to Elegeion. Ohmigod 0_0. The Last Moment is beautiful. *Cringes*

Ohh. A friend lent me Melissa a few months ago. Personally, that voice is unbearable. There wasn't a song I didn't cringe while listening too, lol. Just not in my tastes.

Silverbaal, you might want to look into Arch Enemy or Children of Bodom for melodic death metal, and Dimmu Borgir or Cradle of Filth for your melodic black metal (well no one knows what CoF is, but they have melodies ^_^) You also might like Anorexia Nervosa.

I'm trying to save up for it too, but I'm so broke -.-. That and my dad hates ordering from paypal, so I'm going to save up money and have a friend order it. It's only $12.99 USD but the shipping is $6 making it about $19 dollars.

I didn't know Children of Bodom was death metal . *Shrugs*. Now I know. I have Hatebreeder.

I'll check out the others. Especially Annorexia Nervosa...I've heard much about them.

Yeah, King Diamond seems to be a love him or hate him kinda singer, but I personally love his singing.

And I'm surprised you didn't like In the Nightside Eclipse! I'd say that was Emperors best....but kudos for liking Wrath Of The Tyrant/Emperor
