Whatever you decide now will probably change when he is born....with both of mine it wasn't until we looked at their walnutty little faces and got to know them after a day or two that we knew for sure what their names were...
I will still never forgive Mr Phlogiston for not letting me name our daughter Tabitha....it was my favorite name all through the brewing of her and when she was born she had a red mark exactly like a tabby cats on her head...

Well, it seems that's we'll be going with Zephram. Thanks to everyone who took the time to respond. Except Duckman, because he's a douche.

I like the names Pascal and Owen. Unfortunately, any kid named "Owen" would share a name with a horrible actor who has an ugly nose.
And Pascal is also a programming language.
I do like the name Atticus. It's got a good history-thing from To Kill A Mockingbird.
And I agree, Jane seems so plain when I don't think about it, but it does appeal to me for some reason.
I think if I used the name Julian, I might be half-inclined to use it on a girl, after Julian of Norwich. You know, that medieval anchoress? Though an anchoress is someone who decides to leave the world and be absorbed in prayer and such things.
Blargh! It's so complicated! Not that I need to name anyone, but.

I always liked the name Legion, even though it's a demon name...but it's still cool. Sorry about the mis-carriage, it's happened to me many of times, except it was my brothers that died.

Well, it sounds like you've gone through all the typical names: Lucifer, Mao, Benito. How about a name a kid can live with? Pubert.
I like it; it's filthy.

Well, it's been almost a year since this topic was posted in. However, I did it again. We are expecting ANOTHER child. Again. Again. (No, that wasn't a stutter.)
Any original names that haven't already been mentioned?
We're thinking about the name Ashe again simply to prevent having to rack our brains, but I would like something different still, so I'm open to suggestions.

Oh... Congratulations...
I don't have suggestions, but i liked the idea that was mentioned here, to name the baby after mythological names...

If I accidentally got up the stick and it was a boy, I'd call it Dylan. Mainly because I like the name, but by happy coincidence it'd also double as a tribute to Bob.
Not particularly unique, but there it is.

Well, at least it has a reason behind it.
But... "up the stick?"

I like the name Brody or Brodie or Bodine for a boy. Everyone I've met with this name is usually genuine and kind.

Yeah, it denotes accidental and unwanted, which it would be for me. I'm 16 and single.
Not the most attractive cluster of words, though, I'll grant you. Sometimes I forget myself and talk like... well, like that.

I don't mind that name, but it just seems odd to me. I can't really say why, though. Just one of those things. I'll consider it, though. Thanks.
By the way, what does it mean?

You wouldn't have in the US. It's Southend for "In Trouble".
I figured you weren't being aggressive, just remembered that I'm talking to a parent-to-be. Some people get touchy about that stuff.

The boy's name Brody \b-ro-dy\ is pronounced BROH-dee. It is of Irish and Gaelic origin, and its meaning is "ditch". Place name. There is a Castle Brodie in Scotland.
Add to favorites (0) | Email this The boy's name Bodine \b(o)-di-ne\ is a variant of Boden
The boy's name Boden \b(o)-den\ is pronounced BOH-den. It is of Scandinavian and Old French origin, and its meaning is "shelter; one who brings news". Saint Bodey (16th century) was an English saint.
Boden has 5 variant forms: Bodie, Bodin, Bodine, Bowden and Bowdoin
When thinking of baby names I think of the person who has the name. Brody or Bodie are a fairly unique name and people I've met were nice.
I got my info on http://www.thinkbabynames.com/meaning/1/Boden.

How is that arrogant?
Isn't Raphael the name of an archangel?

Yeah. It also rolls off the tongue nicely, and I just like the sound of it.
Unfortunately I was evidently wrong that it's a valid suggestion, as it's "errogant"...
