If you really care about Mel than maybe you should ease into the physical at a slow and comfortable level. Just tell her that you're a little nervous, I find that it helps to be honest with each other. Getting physical for the first time with a member of the opposite sex can be intimidating, and expecially if you care about them. It may be easier on the two of you afterwards as well if you make sure to talk about it instead of mutually jumping each other and then feeling weird afterwards. It's all up to you, I hope that this helps a bit.

i'm on the fence about some of the pictures being posted - interpret that as not knowing whether or not the line is being crossed regarding pornographic content.

i'm on the fence because i'm viewing some of the pictures through a father's eye and internally debating whether or not i would be upset if my children saw them while browsing the net. i'm doing that specifically because there are some fairly young eyes that regularly browse the threads and are exposed to them. thus far, i haven't felt strongly enough to edit the pictures - although i have paused to wonder once or twice. please note - i do appreciate the editing, i.e. - the black blocks to cover overt nudity.

i'll ask kindly that some of the more racy photos be thought of twice before they are posted - and remember, there are members here as young as 13.

edible_eye, your point is well taken. I think I was probably being a bit adventurous with my picture selection due to the thread subject name. But you're right, that does not prevent underage users from browsing this area. I trust your judgement, and if any of the pics truly trouble you, I will undestand whatever you do with them. And I will watch more closely (as I told another mod after the pic post yesterday) the content of future posts.

I'm gonna ask for one clarification due to the timing of your post. Do you feel any of the last three pics are at issue?

the olympics pics were the ones i had in mind, specifically. as for the last three, only the third one raised an eyebrow.

I've kissed a girl but never gone any further. I look at girls sometimes and think "now she is HOT", but overall, I think it's more admiration than actual desire.

Then again, maybe it's all my "girls are for friendship" social conditioning... I'd be up for experimentation if I was attracted to a girl. And if I wasn't in a relationship. I don't know if it'd come to anything - I guess I won't know for certain, as long as my sweetie lasts. I think it'd be more for the sake of finding out for sure than because I don't really experience attraction attraction towards women. But I'm from the "try before you decide" school, so although I do consider myself straight overall, I wouldn't say it's set in stone.

So - not that I'm complaining - how is it that 20 some odd pages of explicit sexual discussion and whatnot is ok but a few silly pictures is not? Not that I like the pictures - I think they detract from the more fun elements that this thread has offered in weeks past - but if one is inappropriate than so is the other.

Unless of course you simply mean from the perspective of a glance - like I have to worry about at the office - such that 13 year old Sally can come on in like me at the office and read the text about how to have anal, with mommy or the boss unawares, but the pictures of a giant sign that says Kum n Go could get Sally grounded and me fired - for example.

I'll not address the rest of your comment, although I have thought that it would be nice to have an adults only section (which is where sexuality probably belongs), but that would be too difficult to administer and police.

But I take your comment about the pictures possibly detracting seriously, and the statement above will be something I will keep in mind in the future when I post here.

Although I suspect that if a glance of a picture of a store sign that says "Kum n Go" could get you fired, then the Gothic.net banner can't be far from causing the same thing.

the only way i can honestly answer this, manimal is from my experience in the real world. magazines with pictures of a sexually suggestive nature are kept behind the racks in a convenience store. anyone can pick up a book from a bookstore or from the library despite the content. i don't know the specifics of the laws regarding exposing minors to content but i do know that when cases are tried, visual representations of sex and nudity are what are brought in as evidence - not the written word.

and to be fair - i don't know what the concrete parameters are here. i'm only asking that thought be put into anything that might be construed as pornographic because the rule is - no pornography. e_p_s and maelstrom could help me on this since they've been here longer than i have.

that's a good point as well. it's a gray area, i agree. i'm not the final word on this. from me, it's only a suggestion.

Well having children and also being a perverted sod, I can understand both sides of the issue. I agree with the pictures temperment just so long as it doesnt take away from my ability and permission to say "assfuck" when the topic permits. Not only say it but go into great gruesome detail as to why it may or may not be the best way to eat a popsicle ever invented.

If it comes down to an eighteen and older section of the site (so long as the basic rules of no pornography are still in place) to protect the kiddies from our inappropriate blurbs of TMI I'd be totally in favor it.

There is a problem with that too. I am 16, so would I be penalized for posting in the "18 or over" section that might exist in the future? I think that when you strip the problem down to it's undies, one od the most logical solutions is to not post any porn or suggestive pictures, and mind what you say. But honestly, how many kids would acutally read any of this with out getting grossed out?

i'm not making up rules nor am i saying that things have to change in any way, shape or form. i don't have that authority.

it's merely an observation i've made about a small percentage of pic content and thought it would be a good idea to remind everyone - not just ben although the olympics pics were what spawned my initial decision to say something - again, i thought it prudent to remind everyone to use good judgement in posting pics that might be construed as pornographic in nature, as well as using direct links to sites where pornography is the flavor of the day.

i don't think it's our responsibility to protect the chldren. i think that responsibility lies within their home, firmly at the feet of whatever adults have custody of said children. i think our collective responsibility lies within the context of the site rule that prohibits pornography to be posted - said pornography to be understood in terms of visual representations.

the same can be said of all rules on the site, including spelling, grammar, complete sentences, no leet speak, stalking members, pm'ing members without permission, etc. - rules that are reinforced constantly, thanx to the vigilance of members.
