I would've thought that this topic could lend some people to taking a good, hard look at themselves and thinking "Hmm, what should I improve on?"

However, the try-too-hards revel in being told that they try too hard and proceed to venture further into gauging just how annoying a person can be.

Because a try-hard's knee-jerk response to being told they're annoying is to try really hard to convey that they "don't give a shit", which is one of the most irritating behaviors of all.
