Ooooooh I found things I want.
New glasses- http://news.bmezine.com/2004/12/14/p...blishers-ring/
And if one of my eyes falls out or is removed- http://news.bmezine.com/2009/04/20/w...-class-cyborg/

Unrelated, I have some new stuff from Lush. I smell of heather-honey and wild jasmine because of their Flying Fox shower gel and temple balm. Plus I got a mega moisturising fig soap so that my skin's silky-soft and highly strokable, and I was given a free chunk of their Reincarnate shampoo with henna and rhassoul mud for shine and condition.
I gave the cinnamon foot-cream to a girl at work, who seems to love it dearly.

Flying fox is one of my favourite Lush scents. I've run out of the shower gel though. Cerridwens Cauldron is my favourite bath melt . YUM.

I dislike the messiness of henna so I've nver used it. Plus if you don't like the result you can't just use a normal dye over the top to cover it. The boxes always warn against it so I assume some hideous reaction may occur.

The indigo in Caca-Noir CAN end up turning hair blue-green, if one tries to bleach it out..

I am PROBABLY allergic to PPD, and am unwilling to risk using a chemical dye.

Korinna- BPAL only ship in the states. Lush have a UK arm, so I can buy these things.
Otherwise I would be wearing the scent of War, Wrath, or Gluttony (Good Omens, Seven Deadly Sins and Seven Deadly Sins collections respectively).

That's tragic, Del! D:
I have Bengal, and LOVE it. I also have Fenris Wolf, but I have to be in the right mood for it.

Edit: I could always order some for you, and ship it myself.

I'm half tempted to accept, but I've just bought some Lush stuff for a friend in Arizona as a belated gift, have had to buy a new microwave because the one here's died, have had two nights of take out, and still have rent to pay and two weekends before my pay comes in.

Not really. I was just watching it because nothing else was on, but it was enjoyable.

Anyway.
The girl I've been fucking seems to have turned her interest to a lady who is going to offer her a real relationship.
This brings out jealousy in me.

I just met a bloke who can teach me Arabic.

Plus, I bumped into a really hot chick who is as obsessed with languages as I am.

Today is improving, despite that bastard I name Winter Southerly.

I can't sleep so I took to reading, I was too lazy to get up and get my copy of the Tao Te Ching so I looked it up online, and look at the difference between translations for poem 26, I was pretty sure I never read the poem before so I got up eventually and checked:

Quote:
The heavy is the root of the light.
The unmoved is the source of all movement.

Thus the Master travels all day
without leaving home.
However splendid the views,
she stays serenely in herself.

Why should the lord of the country
flit about like a fool?
If you let yourself be blown to and fro,
you lose touch with your root.
If you let restlessness move you,
you lose touch with who you are.
Thats from http://academic.brooklyn.cuny.edu/co...ote-v3.html#26

This is Thomas Cleary's translation (the book I have):

Quote:
Gravity is the root of lightness;
calm is the master of excitement.
Thereby do exemplary people travel all day
without leaving their equipment.
Though they have a look of prosperity,
their resting place is transcendent.
What can be done about heads of state
who take the world lightly in their own self-interest?
Lack of gravity loses servants of state;
instability loses heads of state.
The difference in the translation almost changes the meaning of the poem, rereading the first one now you can probably take it as a political commentary but reading it first its easy to see how it can be interpreted in other ways. Its not really a mistranslation but worded differently its more ambiguous.

Sorry for the long post, just thought it was weird. Methinks that perhaps I should pick up Chinese, its offered under the Religious Studies program at my school, I haven't taken any courses on Taoism yet but I'd like to know more about what it actually says and how it should be interpreted, I understand now why some religions insist on keeping their holy books in the original language.

Yeah, funny how people frequently quote their holey books as if they were perfect and yet what they have is, at best, a translation of a translation.

I love this. This friday I'm having my birthday party *
I was only allowed to invite 40 people tops.
But I'm Alan!
The thing escalated quickly. Now I have a DJ and two bands that asked me to play, and there's gonna be at least a hundred people. Probably more than 200.
It will be a nice celebration of two decades of existence. I'm so excited; seriously.
