No, Judas Priest. Go away.
Judas Priest was awsome, and metal has gotten enough heavy, it needs to have just abit of melodic balance to it

That's old stuff, it's nowhere near as "heavy" (a very subjective term...) than a lot of today's music. Listen to some Nile or Gorgoroth and you'll see that Slipknot is nothing special at all.

And to the guy above me, there's still tons of melodic metal, the whole Gothenberg death metal sound is pure melodic. At The Gates, Dark Tranquility, In Flames etc.

Dude, you're talking to a seasoned pro of Death Metal. Of Metal in general, I've got a massive array of bands I listen to. Wormed, that's heavy. Necrophagist. Gorgoroth are pansies and Nile are awesome, I might be seeing them in September.

I still stand by liking Slipknot, eh.

Garbage, rarara!

Give me some skin Macaroni!

Garbage and The Cure were my only outlets in years 7-9

Garbage to me is just quirky and fun even when it's sad

I went full circle. Started off liking Slipknot, went into 'tr00 metal' phase, finding just the craziest shit I could find, then I branched out again and now I have a collosal list of music and Slipknot have a well-earned place on that list. But yeah, if you're interested in some good music recommendations that are a little more your taste, just ask.

I actually can't stand most death metal other than the melodic stuff, Nile is one of the few bands I listen to that fall into that category. Most of what I listen to is either Grind, Black Metal or Doom. But yea, I have wayyyyy too much music.

I love all three of those genres.

I have over 30GB of music on my hard drive and that's a negligible fraction of the bands I like.

I know what you mean, I'm running out of space for all my music. I have an external hard drive with about 40GB from my old computer, and then about 30GB on this computer, plus I have about 200 Grateful Dead shows archived on DVD's....

I stopped downloading because I couldn't fit everything on, and because I like mainly music on independent labels so I felt bad.

If it's on an independent label, and I can buy it, I usually do, but they tend to take stuff out of print rather quickly, which can make it difficult to get a hard copy.

That's gross. I prefer cock mongrels. Which is a great insult for a really dumb person.

I've got a poster of Garbage, with the beautiful Miss Shirley looking right at you.

...It used to be on my ceiling.

But then I started feeling guilty and put on the wall.
