Goth Makeup For Kids, how much is enough?

The thing is being a babygoth as a 12yr old,is often (as with most parents) makeup.
I have them at my disposal, but I thought I should get advice from the pros.
(My family already says I act like a whore and I haven't even tried on the makeup) so for my sanity's sake is there a way to put accross "I am Goth" with my makeup without getting TOO much of a 5 hour lecture on how inappropriete it is for a 12 yr old to be wearing ANY makeup.
I want a classy gothic look without people yelling "CLOWN" at me I just want some advice on how much is best for my age group...I would go full out regardless of peoples responses but people have been making life so hard for me why should I add more problems to the list?

(I'm super sorry if this questions been asked before,I've flicked back a page or two and it's not there,I am also lazy so I didn't check 7 pages of questions)
So...how to be a classy,gothic,12 yr old...makeup wise......?

I would suggest to you a classic look. Light, even white eyeshadow on the lids with a strike of liquid eyeliner on each upper lid. Liquid eyeliner can be hard, I know, but its best to stick in there and soon youll master it. Also you may wear a red lip with this.

I would say go to the picture thread in general and browse through. We have a few artists lurking around when it comes to makeup. Honeythorn comes to mind as a good person to look to for inspiration when it comes to makeup, as she has some rather nifty eyeliner patterns.

Other than that, I can't really help you much. Being a 17 year old guy, a little eyeliner on occasion is the extent of my makeup. Good luck though!

Damn, I was too slow to put this in with an edit, but I thought this was a classy makeup job: http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i1...n/IMGP1981.jpg

Hmm... I didn't wanna hurt your feelings or end your expectations, but
I sincerely don't think a 12 yo girl should wear ANY make up. It's ok if you do so after you're 16... but 12, you're too young! Two years ago you were 10!
You probably still have baby skin and pimples haven't even started showing up!

Rimmel would be ok, a little blush and gloss would be ok. But then that's not pretty goth...
I believe anything more than that will get your parents complaining.

I wouldn't allow my kids to wear make up at that age... but then, I'm not your mom.

I think just a bit of eyeliner/eyeshadow is enough, really.

I wasn't that much older than her when I started wearing makeup... there's nothing wrong with it.

But you can't really wear any thing "goth" at that age.
Just a little translucent eyeshadow and maybe light mascara.

I don't think we should say that because she's young, she can't look 'gothic' so to speak. She just likes the style and wants to convey it tastefully.
I caked on a fuckload of make-up at the age of twelve and nobody cared.

RavenEss_Shiva, I think some grey or black eyeshadow and a bit of mascara would suffice, a touch of eyeliner wouldn't hurt, but just a tiny tiny bit. You don't want to be smearing it all over your face. 'Tis not Halloween yet.

Make-up is ugly.

At the age of twelve there is little that you can do with your makeup that wont irk your parents but if you really want to start then I would suggest a light gray eyeshadow, pale, shimmery lip gloss (at your age lipstick really isn't a good idea and will most likely look rather tacky), and if you want to get creative and/or stand out a bit more then try out some colorful mascara

With being 12 years old, any makeup you wear is going to look VERY amplified...unless you look many years older than your age. I would suggest just a smidgen of a silvery eyeshadow or a light grey, and just a little bit of eyeliner. I would probably save any attempts at anything more with eyeliner (i.e., catseye type stuff) until you are a older.

I probably wouldn't wear any lipstick either, if I were you....maybe just something tinted...like those Bonne Bell ones that look like chap stick but have just a hint of color.

I think makeup on young people almost always looks like shit.

Plus, why do you care about letting people know about how goth you are?

Because she's 12.

Goddamnit, Joker.
I was asking her.

I agree with Jillian - make - up is pointless.

Just dress up in the classic goth fashion. That'll take time though. Just make your hair BIG, okay?

Makeup has a point.
Therefore, you are wrong.

Seconded.

BUT I don't think she should try showing out all the 'gothness' through make-up at such young age.
Will indeed make her look older and will probably give a wrong impression.

Go ahead wearing clothes you like, accessories you like, a cool haircut, and just LIVE goth. When the time comes you can wear make-up and whatever else you wish!

Well, it's legend that I have no threshold for the "Shrouding myself in nothing but Lip Service swag I found on ebay out to the club and making lame You Tube videos with crappy goth tagged pics on Photobucket is a lifestyle!" POV bullshit that is so old it got into a fist fight with Methuselah for shits and giggles.

That just smacks of taking the scene too seriously as a substitute for something missing in their life or an actual personality and it's just sad as all hell.

Shitty literature? Well... I can't say that I am a fan of Southern Gothic. It's too realistic... Then again, I was never a fan of Southern literature. I won't comment on the count Chocula. Haha.

You're not listening to me.

I said white eyeshadow and liquid eyeliner. You will look great if you rock this look.

If that's how you see it then your wasting your time. Besides, my sentence you quoted is just too wide, so you took the meaning you wanted. Not my issue.
If you and people like you go after Youtube and Photobucket pictures to find out where you fit, that's oh so original... wow.
Funny how THIS subject HAD to be this original.

No I don't mean that.

Frankly speaking I seriously don't know why you people have so many issues with terms.
This is a goth forum isn't it? Many here claim to be goths right?
What's the deal with your complicated minds... I wonder.
