Sometimes I wonder if I'm voting third party because I already know that Obama is going to win or if I'm really voting third party based on shared values.

I made the mistake of looking at the results so far and kind of gagged when I saw that Romney was ahead I can only hope that it is because most of the south and midwest are in but the the rest of the country is still waiting for results because I really honestly fear what a Romney presidency would do to this country.

I'm trying not to worry about it since the swing states are still being called. Apparently Obama got New Hampshire?

Oh hey, Tammy Duckworth will be the first disabled woman veteran congressman, who lost both her legs as a helicopter pilot in Iraq.

Oh hey and Mazie Hirono will be the first Asian American woman to serve in the Senate.

That's awesome and at the same time ITS 2012 ITS ONLY HAPPENING NOW?

Apparently Romney didn't even bother to write a concession speech.

I can only imagine his victory speech.

I was hoping Tammy Duckworth would send that tea bagger packing after what he said about her (it's not worth repeating, I'll just celebrate for her instead). Not to mention the first openly gay (terrible label, I know) senator has been elected: Tammy Baldwin from Wisconsin! Hoozaa!

But seriously, Mitt the Twit (thank you British papers for a great nickname!) needs to come out and end it already. Your supporters look like a defeated army, end their misery.

These memes are cracking me up. I hate how cynical I've become...while everyone is celebrating I'm thinking about indefinite detention of citizen terror suspects.

And yet no one thinks of how many people might have ended up in bankruptcy that might have a better chance with today's healthcare initiatives.
Or how many kids have been deported from the only home they knew because they were unfortunate to live before the Dream Act was even an idea.

Human beings are selective that way when it comes to 'cynicism'.

That's Texas state rep (do you have MHAs in Australia? To my understanding its like that, not an MP or Senator), they only voted their first queer (at least openly) senator last night as well. Still pretty cool though.

I can't really take the cynicism, particularly from leftists who see no difference between Romney and Obama, when a fuckload of issues were riding on this campaign.

At least it'll be four more years before I have to hear another smug remark about no such thing as leser evils.

And now for something completely different.

My key issue was not only the fact that Romney would flip-flop, but also how the super pac money was spent on his campaign and who a lot of those donors were. Across the board it was Big Coal, Koch Bros., Big Oil and Wall St loan sharks. To think any of them would be given another figurehead in the White House with control over the House of Representatives was frightening.

And as much as I'm enjoying the Senate being under control of independents and Dems, I'm still nervous regarding the House of Reps being under control of the Repubs.
