good point. two good points actually. i put religion, though i don't have any. And, although i think there are christians, it's not clearly shown.
i meant they've got ideas about religion i share sometimes. that may be better.

i can't say it better. That's the worst part of it.
just let me hope, please

well, it seems like in the last album, they just wanted to have fun and "steal this album" was just songs they didn't want to put in the previous one.
then i don't know much more...

System

I agree for an amazingly talented musicians they left the writing of their new album to the guitarist. They lost so much of what they had from Shavo and Serg. I think they heard that because Hypontize is 100% better than Mezmerize (though that is not saying much). I hope they create another cd as great as Toxicity some day soon.
That being said, I still loooove this band. They and Tool are my favorite non-goth musicians.

I used to really like System Of A Down. I have their first album, Toxicity, and Mesmerize. I really didn't care much for their first album, but Toxicity and Mesmerize are kick-ass.

WTF? Dude Toxicity was most certainly NOT their first album, it was System of a Down. Ever heard of Suga(r)?

Thankyou

*muffled giggle* Oppsy Al??

Hmm, I'm rather taken with Toxicity and Mesmerize, but hypnotize hasn't impressed me much. ..Yet.

System of a Down are great when you're in the mood for some insanity. If you're looking for lyrics that make sense, don't go near them.

I like some of the tracks on their new album, but the first album is definitely their best. "Soil" is a classic.

(And there's a guitar solo! *shock*)

I enjoy the meanings that they put in their lyrics, but the music can get boring fast, but could also be because I'm always with my boyfriend and he constantly has Mezmerize on full blast.....

Sorry luv, but both you and Al are right. Your post can be interpreted both ways.

I admit that System of a Down are about the only band that falls into that Nu-metal label that I really admire for vocal harmonics (guess someone actually learnt something from oldschool metal.

Hypnotize: nice.

I used to like them at one time, but then I quickly grew very bored of them, and thus used the cd as a coaster for my drinks.

Hi Silent_Tears.

Why don't you head over to the introductions forum and make a thread introducing yourself, mk?

System of a down's first 3 albums were pretty good. IMO the self-titled album was the best, and after that they went downhill, and i cant really listen to their new album's for more than 3 minutes, before i change the playlist to something better. But, their unreleased stuff is excellent. Metro was the first song i ever learned to play on the guitar, so i'm inclined to think that SOAD can improove. Serj is an amazing lyricist, but their guitarist took over the song writing for the last two albums, and killed it for their last two albums.

I heard it once, and once was enough to realise that it as okay. Just okay, nothing amazing like the first albums, which was really upsetting. I hoped that hypnotise might somehow differ to mesmerise, but it didnt.
