Thumbs up How To Write Your Own Obituary

How To Write Your Own Obituary
a TEDx presentation

I think EVERYONE SHOULD WATCH THIS, especially some of you who I have observed as becoming increasingly cynical and skeptical of the world today and the people in it:

Best-selling author Brad Meltzer explores an exercise in writing your own obituary, and what power you have to impact it now. This is truly moving.

Seriously, click on the link. I think it's worth your time.

16 minutes is too much for the internet here. Can you privileged assholes who live in first world countries paraphrase for the rest of us?

I'm sorry. It's not a 16 minute lecture that can be distilled down to a few bullet points (although the speaker does take a moment to needle us "privileged assholes") ... it's a series of personal stories and 16 minutes of highly motivational, uplifting commentary.

I could give you the summary, but it would suck the motivational and uplifting context right out of the thing. It would not in any way do the speech or the speaker justice, and would probably encourage other people to think they can just read the outline and not see the video ... and that won't provide the same impact at all.

I would gladly edit it down to smaller segments so you could see the whole over time in it's entirety. How short would those segments need to be?

BTW, I downloaded the video as an MP4 file, and it comes to under 43 MB. Is that a file size I could email to you? I have no idea what restrictions your internet access imposes.
