Hey???.... What????.... yeah it's true.. sigh.. I love boots... I think I've always loved them...

Hope you are interviewing everyone Timeless?

Ren - we will have power... generated by hampsters, with thighs the size of aircraft wings, that will run in wheels, none of this hippy solar/wind power stuff for us.

Graus - you are the definition of awesomeness.. and no you can't have the shotgun seat on the helicopter.

Sol - you can just organise us all if you like, or you can whip the football team into working to produce our food, but you have to talk to Saya about that first, because she gets first dibs on the whips...

Why would I need to interview anyone else when clearly Renatus is the best trap engineer?
If anyone would wish to challenge him for his position, they are welcome to try, but beating a zombie-driven zombie trap is gonna be hard...

I just wanted to make sure we got the best person for the job. You know someone is going to come along and put in a complaint or something...

I think if anyone does challenge for the job, then they should have to fight zombies hand to hand, or maybe just fight their way out of my boot collection.. those boots are tricky things...

You won't need one Timeless, because no zombies will get to the island!

What if the zombies learn to swim? Then we'll need those things if they manage to chew past the football team. Did you play the Resident Evil game where the zombies got organized and had a leader?

Well they will have to get past the frikkin' sharks with frikkin' laser beams on their heads.

Nah I didn't play the game. But I have watched Zombieland several times and taken copious notes. You just need good cardiovascular system and if you are with someone else, you just need to outrun them!

I never actually played Resident Evil, I sat on the sidelines while my brother played :P So I watched Resident Evil 1-3, Gun Survivor and halfway through Code Veronica X. Oh, and the one with the mutated metal guy with a forcefield on a boat. Can't remember the name of it.
The leader game thing must've been.... 4 or 5? Never saw or played those.

Graus are you telling us that we have to start playing video games to practice?

Awww.. man! I'm going to suck when the zombies take over the world... It's a good thing I can grow food, because otherwise I'll have no useful talents at all... although I'm pretty good at making up stories and claiming shotgun on helicopters....

And for the record.. I've tried first person shooter games... the person teaching me, stood right in front of me and said "okay shoot me"

I shot the walls, the ceiling, the floor but I never put a bullet into him.

Fruitbat - Next time you wanna learn to play FPS games, here are a few useful pointers when trying to hit a target standing perfectly still:
1: Put the crosshairs on their head.
2: Click the mouse button to fire a bullet.
3: Watch your target fall over

I tried.. Oh how I tried..... it took me ten minutes to get my character to stop looking up at the ceiling!

Honestly, if we ever met IRL, I'd go to the nearest computer with a FPS game and show you exactly how hopeless I am, plus I do scream a lot and say "sorry" a bunch of times, and when I used to play unreal tornament, I would do a lot of running (not much jumping because that involved pressing the right key at the right time)

Oh and hello from my new account.

Resident Evil 4 and Veronica are going to be re-released this year on Xbox 360.

Anyone watch the office? The season when they were playing all the COD?

Andy Bernard: [after Jim had just killed him in Call of Duty] Why did you do that?
Jim Halpert: Just killing Germans any way I can.
Andy Bernard: We're on the German team! Shoot the British.
Jim Halpert: [to Karen] Wait, are we playing teams?

This just hit the market today - http://thetruthaboutguns.com/2011/06...llpup-shotgun/

14 rounds, dual tube so you can load two different rounds (seven each) in to each tube and hit the feed selector with your thumb to switch between them. It weights under SEVEN pounds and have virtually no recoil.

Then again, does it really hold a candle to these?

http://www.gizmag.com/aa-12-combat-s...tomatic/11393/

Slap in those HE frag rounds and you could literally clear a mob of a few hundred zombies in a matter of seconds.

When something says "9 meter kill radius," it means that there is 1 piece of lethal fragmentation every 1 square meter for 9 meters from the center of the detonation. Not "everything within 9 meters will die."

20 hands grenades couldn't even accomplish that, much less 20 high explosive 12 guage rounds.

And aside from that, a real man uses this for all his killing needs:

*sigh* just more reasons you all won't let me near the guns on our zombie free island paradise, I have no idea what you guys are on about....

.... but if I sneak past Sol and Graus, I reckon I can get near the boots!

Hey Timeless, what's our island called?

You are correct, but I am thinking that things like frag grenades, HE rounds, and other related munitions might be a bit more effective against the undead. Rotting flesh would be a lot more penetrable allowing shrapnel to pass through easier. It wouldn't like be throwing a grenade in a group of people where things like bone and muscle would stop the shrapnel, it would be more like throwing it in a group of cardboard cut outs that are shambling around.

Suppose that a zombie is somehow "more penetrable" then a living human. It doesn't change anything because there simply is not enough lethal material in the explosives we're talking about to accomplish what you're imagining.

There is also the figurative consideration that a zombie isn't fatally wounded by as many injuries as we are. In this instance, lethality is generated by high velocity fragments damaging a vital area in the body, which are things we don't recognize a zombie to have too many of. I don't think so for the same reason that shooting what we traditionaly recognize as the average zombie in the stomach or heart or arteries or lungs would be ineffective.

Also, there is a difference between fragmentation and shrapnel.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fragmentation_(weaponry)
