Pour it in, you get a really nice even coat doing it this way, the drawback is that they take ages to dry.

I'm surprised by how well I like the dark brown beer bottles with the orange paint, the warmth of the orange really comes through and makes it look more like ceramic with a thick glaze than glass, unfortunately that doesn't really come across well in photos.

Would they be a good decoration for Halloween that way?. My sister has a bunch of sapphire colored wine bottles and I only get local brewed beer in brown bottles.

I'm making labels for them and using them as potion bottles, I'm going for a witch/herbalist kind of theme, and they have turned out pretty perfect for that.

You pour the paint in and then immediately pour it out? I might want to try this one day - I love stuff like that

Yeah, you just pour a bunch in and slowly pour it out while rotating the bottle to make sure you cover the entire inside then let it drain, it's very easy but draining and drying takes a long time (days for drying).

I used regular wall paint because it is cheap and you can easily get it in exactly the color you want. There are more expensive types of paint that supposedly work a little better, and some of those are waterproof so if you want to use a bottle as a vase you would have to figure out which paint would work for that, but I'm cheap and this works for what I'm doing.

Making invitations is a lot more time consuming than I remember (maybe cuz the wedding invites are the only ones I've done in about 6 years and those were just sticking bits of paper to other bits of paper with glue dots). These things are taking forever and my hand keeps cramping up.

On the plus side I'm about half way done, my handwriting actually looks decent (the cursive looks damn good, no idea how that happened), my new stamps are awesome (and they were just $1 each!), and I am really happy with how they are turning out. I'm just kind of regretting the decision to include that damn poem. Sooooo much extra writing

Would it be weird if, despite the apothecary theme, for Halloween I went with a Night Vale theme for my bathroom? I just really want to include some Night Vale stuff and my costume will be from Night Vale (I think Jake's will be too but I am not making him a five headed dragon costume, no matter how nicely he asks, if he doesn't pick something else I'm just going to tape some of the really bright glow sticks we have to his head and stick some cotton batting to it, whether he likes it or not). Also I just kind of really, really want a hovering cat in the bathroom.

... hovering cat sounds awesome! :O

Look at the awesome!!

I am going to a 25-year birthday party next month - big party thing.
Since my gift budget is low, I decided to do something really cheap but really personal and fun.

So I am going to make a gift consisting of three things - a basket looking really classy, and then the gifts being a trashy "drunken stupor" theme thing.

I have made three cards like the above, one saying "For the evening", one saying "For the night" and one saying "For the morning thereafter" - obviously in Danish.

The "For the evening" one is going to be a cheap bottle of whisky(he'll drink anything that's been in a casket for a few years), the "For the night" one is going to be a packet of condoms, and the "For the morning thereafter" one is going to be a box of painkillers that work well on hangover-pains as well as his migraine.

How awesomely trashy is that?

TR- you are so creative.

I got told today that my laughter is unique and wonderful. Guess I'm making up for 10 years of not laughing... Actually had people coming up to me, telling me jokes to hear me laugh.

I recorded it once. Scared the crap out of myself - didn't realize I laughed THAT loud or that full. yikes!

You gotta love trolls Timeless, even the patient long term ones such as Catch.

I find it funny how after working for a drug store chain for less then a month one of my coworkers accused me of being threatening when they acted like a bully and I stood up to them (they've been known to clap hands while yelling at other co-workers, following a manager around like a lost puppy and trying to stir the pot for drama, all while talking on their cell, having family members come hangout at the store, claim personal reasons for leaving their area of responsibility, etc). Sure, I'm on probation, but I find it funny that I'm now on two strikes out of three all of the sudden when this individual never responds to questions for assistance, sits and bullshits with a previously mentioned manager and while acting domineering, despises the fact that anyone can and will talk back if they feel they're being pushed far enough.

I try not to be petty, but am I wrong to laugh when someone twice my age tries to pull high school level crap?

BB - I really hate it when people shove that high school shit at you when you're working.

Really busy working on my own independent business, and editing my last book in the trilogy, and looking for work and getting the house ready for whatever we are going to do with it. sigh... not enough hours in the day.

So Mr Bat is having one ankle fused at the end of this month. 3 months out of action.

I need a job.

I think this Halloween party could be a little crazy. We are going to have at least 24 people but there may be as many as 47. Last year we have about 35 people come but I don't think we ever had more than 15 people at a time but it looks like everyone wants to come for the whole thing this year. I mean the living/dining room is nice and open but this kitchen isn't really a party space (yes kitchens can be good spaces to hang out, ours is not thanks to the layout and size of the counters). At least the second bedroom is a hangout space, not really much standing room cuz it's our tv room but people can sit (and I'll probably be playing b-list horror flicks) so that should give us a little breathing room but 47 people is gonna be a little cramped, especially with only one bathroom.

Oh well at least most of them are awesome people so eve if space is a little tight we'll still have fun and a good number chipped in for food/drinks or are bringing stuff so I won't go broke throwing this thing.

Going to the Mercury Club tonight in Seattle, woo whoo! Perfect luck: I flew out here on biz, and ran into a guy whose friend is a member (it's a private club and guests can only get in dressed in all black and with a sponsorship of another member). There is supposed to be a lot of VNV Nation played tonight.

Stay tuned...

Ami: Duckman is gone for good it would seem. Also, the forums regularly get infested with spamwaves that take anywhere between two weeks and several months for someone with power to notice. I got banned for participating in a harmless poop thread and had to re-join(I was known as Anarasha before), and Godslayer Jillian is now known as Alan. I think that pretty much covers it.
