As a congratulations gift for finishing my final class, I purchased "Doom 3: BFG Edition" yesterday. It's been two hours since I came home from work and fired it up. Since I'm a simple guy, I decided to play it chronologically for old times sake, and holy shit! I forgot how much I missed the original "Doom" along with the pure awesomeness that comes with playing that game. It's been two hours since I came home from work and fired it up.

Doom has profoundly impacted my life. I have a head lamp in my dash.

Heh, just playing it brings back old school memories. This is actually the first time I've been able to play it on PC, before this weekend the only time I played it was on the SNES.

Ah, yeah.

I will say that Doom is kind of simple in that it feels like a one trick pony and is a little dated design wise. Not being able to see and shoot at the same time, while nerve racking, reminds me a lot of not being able to move and shoot or see because of fixed camera angles.

As of today Jake and I have been together for eight years. That's a really long time and yet we haven't managed to drive each other totally crazy yet.

Oh and to mark the occasion I made a really, really yummy cake

I had to think about it for a bit, but definitely Mirror Man in Arcade Fire's new music video; and the chance that more of the album could be influenced by LCD Soundsystem. I'm quite sure limitless whining over hypergamous provisioning could run across the spectrum of light in his jagged fedora.

Yeah it is, but sometimes classics are meant to be enjoyed for what they are. The constant growls of the demons while I stalk the halls are making me paranoid though. At least the mouse cursor allows me to turn and move while shooting. It's a shame they never fixed the "not being able to jump" situation though.

I've been using this on Facebook a *lot* lately. It makes my heart happy when I would otherwise feel like chewing off my own eyelids..

Apparently I'm like the brokeass Martha Stewart cuz I just turned a few really cheap pantry items, a pickle jar, a couple of spice jars, and a basket my neighbor was getting rid of into one hell of a pretty gift.

Also I'm making amazing soup stock with the leftover chicken bones from dinner and the end bits of veggies I've collected over the last couple of weeks. It tastes soooooooo good and it consists entirely of things that were otherwise unusable.

Thanks, I'm rather pleased with it

The jars and the stuff in them are remarkably easy (and cheap, so very cheap yet wonderfully effective) but I really lucked out with the basket. It ties the whole thing together and I just happened to be outside when my neighbor was going to toss it because there is a bit that broke on one of the handles so now it stuck out but that was easily fixed by wrapping it with the ribbon.

I was pretty good at pool as a kid, not so much any more but most of my friends are just as bad and we managed to have tons of fun playing.

Timeless do you do a lot of cooking? And are you interested in recipes? I really love eggs so I have loads of recipes ranging from super basic to pretty impressive but really none of them are all that hard (except souffles, those are super finicky)
