I really, really want to be more like my mother. I was doing a paper on happiness and self-actualization and decided to do a quick interview with her as she is one of the best adjusted people I know and it turned into the most in-depth interview I have ever done so she ended up being the core of my paper, as in there were six pages devoted to her and most of the rest had at least a little about her. I had no idea that she had done so many really amazing things. I thought that I got my tenacity from my dad because my mom just doesn't seem capable of being so strong willed (she is the “everyone needs a hug” type) but apparently she is more than capable of holding her own with some seriously powerful people and was willing to make some major sacrifices for the causes she believes in. That and for all that she has gone though in the last few years she really is the happiest person I know.

Oh and a more short term goal is to be a bit more active, especially now that the weather is perfect for being out at night

I had a dream last night, it was a pretty nice one, too. Three years have passed, I had written two books, recorded two cds and was working on my third one, I had lost all of my weight, had a hot girlfriend, lived in a pretty nice home with three floors, I was a multi-millionaire. Man, I was finally able to do some actual good for the world, gave thousands of dollars to all these charities, I felt complete. Then... I woke up.

Another goal of mine is to improve my sparring in taekwondo. I've been going a bit badly lately, and the World Cup is in Sydney in October and I really want to go!

I dream of one day being a radio jock, for a radio show that plays independant music and is intellectual. I don't care too much about money, as long as I can afford a studio apartment somewhere in the city and be able to pay bills and feed myself occasionally. It be pretty cool to be a jazz singer, but that's just a pipe dream.
I definitely have radio potential...people tell me all the time.

Oh yes, I also want to be less trusting, speak my mind more, and not put up with people's bullshit.
I'm getting better at the latter.

Can you PM me the paper, or is it too personal? It sounds like a good read.

Also, I have heard that as a whole, Japan is very Xenophobic, making it a place I'd love to visit, but couldn't stand staying in. I get enough stares in Europe.

Last night I had a dream that I looked up and at the corner of my bed was a friend of mine kneeling down, smiling. Then I looked behind him and there was a pretty nasty looking wolf. Then my friend turned into a wolf, and they both jumped onto my bed, and then the other wolf turned into a sexy chick, and I started asking them questions about what it was like being werewolves, then the wolf that was my friend turned out to be my dad. I don't think they were going to eat me, but I don't think I was allowed to be a werewolf like them, either. I'm having trouble interpreting this one.

One day, I want to build a castle, that is really eco-friendly, with one of those hobbit-homes to the side of it for guests.

Short-term:
Finish album, make a short film with my friend, finish my erotic stories, get another synth, get another guitar.

Long-term:
Sign a big contract, get better recording space, find a woman worth my time, play big concerts, write a novel.

I want to have lots of land in a nice place, like Wyoming or West Virginia. I want a nice, cozy home with Justin and lots of babies.

Short Term: "In the short term I want to": Get a new bass amp, lift more weight, get a better bass drum pedal and djembe, tastefully hit on more ladies that I like, attempt to write a teleplay and of course escape the clutches of death.

Long term: "In the long run I want to": be a history teacher, start a printing company, own a nightclub, raise viable offspring, buy my coffin and tombstone well in advance, put out music and stories. Tour at least around the country.

Thanks for reviving this. It's a nice thread, and I like your format.

Short Term: That my class goes well and gets a lot of people, and more importantly, that one of the universities accepts me to their PhD program.

Long Term: To revive communism as a viable sociopolitical alternative, and becomes a major international spokesperson of communism, thridworldism, feminism, and sex worker unionization.

Short term: I want to finish my education as a graphic designer and get my own place again.

Long term: I want to travel the world and see the wonders. I want to use this to inspire my lyrics and have my lyrics made into real music.

This is a great thread.

Short-term: finish Bitch article, publish an academic one I've been working on on Kerouac's Duluoz Legend. Smoke less weed and master the basics of life as a grown-up such as keeping a tidy house, never running out of clean socks, keeping regular mealtimes and baking shit.

Long-term: get as much article-based content published as possible and start teaching again. Also need to start applying for permanent positions in the spring.

Also, learn to play the harmonica. Not sure exactly where that fits in, but somewhere...

MC, you should work on your socialising skills with me sometime. I'd socialise the SHIT out of you.

For real, we should get that Gnet meet-up in London organised sometime. I'm pretty sure all the other Brits left so it'd probably just be us, but I reckon we could do some quality public drunken ridiculousness, not get laid, get slurringly angry about the patriarchy and cry each other to sleep.

MC: damn straight baby. Flying the flag... flying the flag.

MOC: do you mind if I ask what kind of gender issues you're having? (I'm sort of interested in that kind of thing, although fair do's if you don't feel like spilling just to satisfy a stranger's curiosity...)

No I don't mind, actually I like talking about it. But I don't want to thread jack. So any questions or anything else would probably be best PM'ed. But, I'm transsexual or trans-female and currently there is issues of getting medical treatment and trying to figure out how to dance around my current military position. All in all the stress is killing me. So, my goal is to primarily get out of my depressed mood and start transition.
